This is how a society becomes "future-dumb".... "The energy transition is an illusion. It is total nonsense." And "We can't be without fossil fuels." Says Stefan Aust, the editor in chief of a major German news group (WELT). This points to an underlying reason why Germany and other western nations are loosing competitiveness. Holding on to the past and willingly believing misinformation and disinformation. And ignoring evidence for the contrary of which there is plenty. If he were just an ordinary citizen at the bar, it wouldn't be a big deal. But he is a very influencial figure in Germany. This clip is already making rounds among the notorious enemies of progress. Without showing the hosts' pushback. This is how a society becomes "future-dumb". This is how polarization grows. The good thing is that renewable energy is growing massively. Also in Germany. Because it is a profitable investment. Economically, ecologically and socially. Fortunately, entrepreneurs have skin in the game, and therefore don't care about the alternative universe this man (and many others) lives in. Investments in coal, gas and oil are declining. Most will become stranded assets ( i.e. rather liabilities) in a not to distant future.

The reservation data for our shuttle connecting the Munich airport to the Coiltech venue paint a vivid picture of the level of international engagement at the event, with attendees hailing from 51 countries to convene in Augsburg. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭: The development, manufacturing, and maintenance of #electricmotors, #transformers, and #generators is a global business, and almost all companies offering technology, materials, and machinery in this field have the potential to expand beyond national borders. For exhibitors, this information serves as a confirmation of their decision to allocate time and budget towards showcasing their solutions at Coiltech. For visitors, beyond the primary objectives of sourcing and negotiating with exhibitors, the opportunity to network with fellow attendees stands as a significant additional benefit of attending the fair. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐎𝐧? To enable attendees to use as much of their time visiting Coiltech in conversation with exhibitors and engaging fellow visitors, we put in place a limousine shuttle from Munich airport to the venue. To dispatch the right number of vehicles and enable us to troubleshoot in case of late arrivals, we required them to book their seats by March 15 and provide their flight details. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐄𝐥𝐬𝐞 𝐖𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: 71% of the attendees using this service make use of it in both directions, 55% of them spend 2 days at the show. This is an indication of the high value they attribute to investing time in interacting with exhibitors, following technical presentations and networking with other attendees. 29% use the service only in one direction, suggesting that they combine their Coiltech experience with other meetings before or after the event.
