Our colleagues work at TVH for many different reasons. #WhyTVH Some work here for the growth opportunities and others for the fun atmosphere or the impact they can make. Whatever the motivation, everyone has their own story to tell. Curious what your reason could be? Explore your next chapter with us at: https://bit.ly/3UvpmIh
Last year, at the News Television Awards, our documentary on the destruction of mangroves in the Sundarbans, Pran Churi (Theft of Life), was honored in the category of Best Show on Social Awareness. Yes, my name is on the trophy, but so many minds were involved in this work. Though I feel a bit shy, I can't help but share this. I will, of course, mention their names. And this year, another award. Again, for the same News Series program. This time, it's in the category of Current Affairs Special - Remarkable Show, for the program Chashe Sarnash (Destruction in Farming).
In this program, we tried to highlight one thing, how are the farmers of Bengal, the very people who fill our plates, actually doing? We often hear about farmers' suicides in Vidarbha, Maharashtra, but in Bengal? The number is ZERO. Yes, since 2011, Bengal claims to have had no farmer suicides. The National Crime Records Bureau reports this every year. But in 2021, an activist, Bishwanath Goswami, filed an RTI request that revealed shocking facts. We went to the villages of West Bengal to uncover that reality. We sought the answer to why they are driven to despair. Every day, how many farmers fall into the traps of middlemen and brokers while selling their produce, leading them to take their own lives? What is the condition of their families? While the central government's ‘Achhe Din’ arrive and the state government holds grand carnivals, no matter how much we chant ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’, their children no longer even see the school. The strange thing is that in any state governed by BJP, Congress, or the Left, there is a recorded number of farmer suicides. Just like there was in Bengal up until 2011. Now, everyone claims to be doing well! Just think about it—what does "doing well" look like?
Tanmay Pramanik nailed the location hosing, (Subhajit Das) managed studio hosting, which was the USP of the News Series. Amit Majumder was behind the lens, while Rajesh Das took care of production. Goldy Sen was responsible for graphics. Arnab Ghosal managed the interview with the Honourable Agriculture Ministerof West Bengal, Shobhandeb Chattopadhyay.
But just like last time, when one person was key to the success of this award, I must mention his name again. He is the one who creates the emotions at the editing table. Once again, Raj Roy, the man responsible for post production, took the ‘Gayer Bodhu’ song by Salil Chowdhury and used it in such an extraordinary way, giving the program a whole new dimension. This name must not be left unsaid.
The award was received on behalf of TV9 Bangla in Delhi by Consulting Editor, Anirban Choudhury.
Soon, it’s coming home...

What actually is TAP? (Apart from some funky dancing shoes 🕺👞🎶)
TAP (The TV Access Project) is a commitment made by the UK's top broadcasters and streamers to make the film & TV industry fully accessible for deaf, disabled and neurodivergent (DDN) people.
To reach TAP's target of full inclusion in TV by 2030, they've developed a set of guidelines for the industry to use as standard practice:
✨ The 5As ✨
🚀 Anticipate → Expecting to regularly work with DDN people and proactively including them in the hiring process
🚀Ask → Sensitively asking every cast and crew member about their access needs as a standard (and regularly checking in afterwards)
🚀 Assess → Reflecting on how accessible your current policies, processes and spaces are as a whole (not just when you know you're working with a DDN person!)
🚀 Adjust → Accommodating any reasonable adjustments consistently and ahead of time, across the whole of a cast or crew member's time on a production
🚀 Advocate → Championing DDN talent for the value they bring onto a production and actively working to be better allies
It's going to take a team effort to make the screen industries fully accessible - but these guidelines are a great starting point 🌱
What are your thoughts on TAP and the 5As guidelines?

🎯The honest truth is, I am wanting for no more reviews. I have 79 and counting (see below). Number one in my team and number 2 overall since I joined MTVH/ SoResi.
Over the past 2 weeks, due to some changes within business, myself and my colleague Klaudia Miara have had to deal with a high volume of customers. Firstly, I wanted to thank Klaudia, I could not wish for a better partner to tackle circa 131 cases.
I also would like to thank Ben, who has been calm and measured, creating a team environment with stellar camaraderie.
⭐️This review; well it was just great to read something positive this week. No matter how tough, we still strive to deliver tip top service.
🏘️We always do strive to ensure we are assisting to aid individuals in getting on the ladder. And the great thing is, we reinvest this money so that someone else can achieve this dream!

P.S. I intended on writing about the Tory manifesto, specifically HTB reintroduction plans, but too busy. Next week ☺️
