Getting started in Trust & Safety is hard. The industry is relatively new. There are a lot of acronyms and terms used that can be confusing. There's no degree (yet) or even formal levels / job titles across the industry. Where does someone looking to start or grow their career in #trustandsafety even begin? This is a fundamental issue for the work of T&S since it can truly only be successful if we have a wide array of perspectives at the table with new ideas and solutions. 🎉 That's why Katie Dunn and I created a new resource we've dubbed the "Trust & Safety Starter Kit" --> https://lnkd.in/gXQFUW-3 It's a simple and relatively functional overview of how to get more involved in the T&S industry. Ideally, it helps anyone discover and engage with the wild world of Trust & Safety so they can contribute to the global online safety effort. The kit includes: - An overview of T&S including goals and background - A walkthrough of what T&S teams actually do - What types of companies have T&S functions - Relevant organizations worth joining or following - People worth following on LinkedIn (and elsewhere) - T&S newsletters - Podcasts that cover T&S topics - Global events worth attending - T&S job boards so you can discover new roles - Networking opportunities - and more! We're regularly updating the Starter Kit so be sure to send an email to the Trust & Safety Network (home of the T&S Hackathon) by emailing hello [at] trustsafety.net if you want us to consider including something that's not there. Thanks and hope this is a useful resource! Check out the T&S Starter Kit --> https://lnkd.in/gXQFUW-3
