The demand for cleaner energy can and will put a strain on the nation’s electrical grids. The stress of a high volume grid and worsening weather emergencies is a recipe for disaster. Slower emergency restoration times can cost the lives of citizens and first responders in cases of serious disaster. Even mild storms have the potential to incapacitate cities and towns if grid sustainability is compromised to meet environmental goals. We must prioritize the strength, stability, and efficiency of electrical grids to best manage the increase in distribution demands. Otherwise, it puts us all at risk. #GridStability #GridMaintenance #GridDistribution #CleanEnergyCost

How does a microgrid benefit rural communities? Today we want to highlight the power of a microgrid for local governments when responding to the needs of people and businesses in their jurisdiction in case of an emergency. This article, "A California County Returns to Power, Thanks to Its Microgrid" (https://lnkd.in/dbMwjD3R). In 2023, "A wildfire brought down Del Norte County's only transmission lines. But officials were able to bring homes and businesses back online through a patchwork of generator-powered microgrids — estimated to be the state's largest." This story highlights the power of microgrids in an emergency. Now, imagine this... imagine custom building your own microgrid that is powered by renewable energy ☀️ with long duration energy storage capabilities for emergency power and fast EV charging stations to support your community or business, not generators powered by fossil fuels. Imagine, part of your local emergency response planning is proactively equipping emergency response departments and government buildings with renewable energy infrastructure to fast-charge emergency EVs and keep the lights on during or after a disaster. Knowing your constituents can count on you to keep the lights on and transportation moving during an emergency is something they will NEVER forget. The peace of mind a sustainable microgrid provides to local residents and local government leaders is EVERYTHING. Contact us to learn more about how our renewable energy microgrids can help you: - Lower energy costs, Long-term savings - Safe, Long Duration Energy Storage - Energy Independence - Meet your Environmental Sustainability Goals #cleanenergy #microgrids #emergencyresponse #localgov #localgovernment #tribalnations #ruralcommunities #energyinfrastructure

Why advocate for protecting DEBA? Ensuring a clean, reliable, and resilient grid is critical to sustain California as one of the world's largest economies. In the face of unpredictable climate challenges, the Distributed Electricity Backup Assets (DEBA) program represents an essential opportunity for California's critical loads to cost-effectively deploy new technologies, like Mainspring Linear Generators, that are significantly cleaner and more flexible than the legacy backup generators that have proliferated over the last several decades. DEBA is a key program to help protect critical loads and usher in a new era of clean backup generators. #zerocarbonfuture #cleanenergy #resilientpower #lineargenerators #smartenergypolicy https://lnkd.in/gY2SS3Aq

At Eversource Energy, we take a thoughtful approach to our innovative and multi-faceted transmission programs that upgrade the region’s electric grid while achieving multiple goals. Our recently completed Eastern Connecticut Reliability Program is no exception. The $190 million suite of upgrades to Eastern CT’s grid will improve reliability for more than 600,000 residents, make the system more resilient to extreme weather and other issues caused by climate change, and help the state keep pace with the demands of increasing electrification and integrating clean energy. Additionally, one of the program’s innovations included the installation of a clean air breaker at one of our substations, which uses purified oxygen instead of a greenhouse gas and brings us one step closer to our goal to be carbon neutral in our operations by 2030. #transmission #cleanenergy #gridofthefuture https://lnkd.in/e3Vf7EtX
