Navigating job offer negotiations can be daunting, but remember, it's about finding a balance where both parties feel valued.🤝 Starting a new chapter with a fresh job offer in hand can be thrilling, yet many of us stumble when it's time to talk terms. Let's talk negotiation. First thing's first: research. Know the market rates for the role you're stepping into. Knowledge is power, and in this case, it equips you with the confidence needed to make your case. It's not just about salary. Consider the full package - flexible working hours, development opportunities, benefits, and perks. Prioritise what matters most to you. Be transparent about your expectations and don't shy away from articulating your value. You bring a unique mix of skills and experiences to the table - ensure that's recognised. Last but by no means least, listen. Negotiation is a two-way street, and understanding the employer's position can help you find that win-win sweet spot. Discussions should conclude with both parties feeling positive about the outcome. Seeking success in your negotiation? Be prepared, be bold, and seek a balance that brings mutual satisfaction. Your career journey is precious - steer it wisely. #JobOffer #NegotiationTips #CareerGrowth

📝 What do you weigh up when thinking if you should accept that job offer? 💵 Quick cheat sheet: Did I offer it to you? Yes, accept it 🤣 Jokes aside, getting through an interview process can feel like a real win, like crossing that marathon finish line. Unlike finishing a marathon, you don't have to just take the medal (ok, that is where the running analogy has run it's course). Now that the hard work of interviewing is behind you, it is time to now weigh up everything. You will feel differently at the end of an interview process than you did at the beginning. You've now had a chance to understand the company better; the culture, the people (including your new leader!) you will work with, the role, the growth opportunities, benefits, salary. Everything is now firm in your mind, weigh it all up and make a decision that will help your career. Check out this Harvard Business Review article to delve deeper into the considerations! #InterviewTips #Interviews #JobOffers #CareerGrowth #WednesdayWisdom #CareerAdvice #CareerGuidance https://lnkd.in/eVpexiwV

One of my career transition coaching clients recently received a job offer, and I guided him through my 5-Step Offer Negotiation Process. Yesterday, he shared the great news: by following this method, he successfully negotiated a higher base salary and additional perks. 👍 This outcome demonstrates the importance of approaching negotiations thoughtfully and strategically. Here’s a breakdown of the process he used: 1. Obtain the Offer ➡️ Express appreciation for the opportunity. ➡️ Take a moment to consider the offer. ➡️ Ask for time to review and schedule when you’ll respond. 2. Collect Missing Information ➡️ Clarify any missing details not covered in the offer. ➡️ Request the offer in writing. ➡️ Avoid negotiating at this stage. 3. Evaluate the Offer ➡️ Review your compensation and benefits worksheet. ➡️ Consult with a trusted advisor (like a career coach). ➡️ Identify your non-negotiables and potential trade-offs. 4. Negotiate and Counteroffer ➡️ Meet or call the hiring manager to discuss the offer. ➡️ Express excitement, then address the key items you'd like to negotiate. ➡️ Highlight how your contributions will benefit the company. ➡️ Negotiate one item at a time, starting with your highest priority. ➡️ Know your walk-away point. 5. Obtain Final Offer in Writing ➡️ Be open to further discussions if needed. ➡️ Ensure you receive the final offer in writing and take time to consider it. This process helped my client land a better deal 👏 , and it can work for you too! Thoughtful, well-planned negotiations can lead to a win-win for both you and your future employer. #joboffer #career #joboffernegotiation #careertransition #jobsearch

Three questions you must ask before you accept a job offer: It doesn't matter how big the salary is, you will hate going to work if your manager isn’t invested in making sure you know that you matter AND your work matters. During the interview, ask them this: 1. How are you intentional about connecting with each team member so you can appreciate who they are and their unique gifts? 2. Can you describe a time when feedback from your team led to change company-wide? 3. Can you explain in detail how raises and promotions are determined for your employees? -- ❤️ and ♻️ this to advocate for workplaces where respect and empowerment replace fear and manipulation. 🆓 tools and resources to advance your career: https://lnkd.in/g6SpetfY #interviewquestions #jobinterviewquestions #jobinterviewtips #workplacewellness #lovemyjob #lovemyjob #hatemyjob less
