As AI becomes more prevalent in our lives, it is altering the landscape for professionals in all fields, including design and urban planning. While some people are concerned about the drawbacks of AI, it is essentially adding a new set of tools to architects' and designers' toolboxes. Instead of taking over, AI is here to help by automating tedious chores, visualizing ideas, and handling large amounts of data. "In the same way computers have replaced drawing on a drawing board, AI allows us to produce better-resolved buildings. AI will become more like an extra team member" Architects’ Journal survey https://lnkd.in/eVJT5hae This sums up the utility and opportunity of AI in built environment that can be of immense value to architects, contractors, project managers, and everyone in the supply chain of buildings. As we move into a world where faster construction technologies, modularisation, off-site manufacturing, and novel materials become the norm, AI integration into design methodologies presents the opportunity to serve a growing population that needs a clean and green environment.
Despite the skepticism around AI adoption, more than half of the architects surveyed by Architects’ Journal say that AI can be good for productivity and 50% are already using it for feasibility testing, early-stage concepts, and materials finishes. AI can enable productivity across project lifecycles for architects eventually resulting in faster turnarounds and more time for creative tasks. At Planarific, we are building a tool that would help architects/designers take up more projects in a year by enabling efficiencies in #homerenovation projects. https://lnkd.in/dJBGNM22

Can AI truly understand the world? In my recent article for AI Business, I explain why Spatial AI—not traditional 2D AI—holds the answer. Current AI lacks the spatial intelligence needed to interpret depth, scale, and context. Spatial AI bridges that gap, bringing breakthroughs across sectors like e-commerce, architecture, and healthcare. At Nfinite, we’re developing the 3D data to help AI see and interact with our world in three dimensions. #ArtificialIntelligence in #AEC, #construction activities involves intertwined workflows, stirict timeline to complete the project, massive cost pressure, multifacted engineering etc, leading to obvisous productiivty challenge. It’s also an industry rife with massive amounts of data, much of which often goes unused. However the issue remains to idenfity the areas for implementing #AI and gain tangible benefits. This is hotly debated area in #AEC domain and stakeholders are exploring applications leveraging #AI that could benefit industrty including cost containment, productativity gain, increased digitilization of workflows.
