The world of GIS seems to consist of 2 types of software solutions, from my experience. One type is a great tool for geospatial and data analytics. While the other type focuses on network topology, connectivity, and sometimes has a workprint output feature as well. None to date seem to provide the ability to produce a permit document. None that I am aware of anyway. How powerful a system would be if it could provide for data/geo analytics, network topology/connectivity, as well as produce a one print output for both permitting and construction. While still meeting industry pricing needs.

Locating a field’s corner in the middle of nowhere doesn’t requiert the same accuracy than a boundary limit down town or to align jump formworks for high rise buildings. Optimization of geodetic measurements and operations is the key to balance the costs. Accuracy level is part of the contract. Reliability matters probably even more.
