On the streets, in the community, you have your gun and you can't rely on anyone else. You can't rely on the police. There's no protection for you. Epidemic of gun violence. This year alone, more than 2100 people have been shot, more than 400 killed. Black people invented almost every single thing that you see in the US, from the stoplight to the typewriter to the lawn mowing machine to the cotton gin that evolved black people out of slavery, even fried chicken. Black people are successful. It's through a perceived lens of inferiority that Black people are often seeing themselves, and it's the audacity of white people to continue to oppress Black people. We've oftentimes been pushed into communities with lesser resources, with lesser opportunities. It's important that we understand their flaws so we can understand their downfalls. And we can understand where not to be. So we have to be able to patch those holes and make sure that we don't take those same turns. Not knowing that you have a contract, not knowing that tomorrow I might not have a job. Do you know, like the mental anguish that that can put on somebody as a single person, let alone a man with a wife and kids? That is huge. And then I got to be able to go to school and then I got to go on trips, put me in private school. As advocacy.
