The title caught my eye as that’s what we do here at Equinox. It makes solid points on things I’ve discussed here in the past, not the least of which is that the cost of everything is going up. Combine that simple fact with unhealthy lifestyle choices and rising cancer rates, and this is a storm your company cannot face alone. Solutions are complex, but where to start? The article points out that high-cost claimants make up a relatively small percentage of a company's population yet tend to represent the largest expense to a company’s benefit program. It’s here where efforts can be focused for better employee outcomes and lower company expenses. It’s no surprise that prevention can be an effective tool. As it states: “…prevention is an important mitigation strategy that is often underutilized.
