Adam #Smith was acutely aware of the potential dangers of unchecked capitalism. He proposed several safeguards, many of which remain underapplied or ignored today. By introducing the Impact Chain, to work in tandem with #Porter’s Value Chain, I’m proposing a framework driven by both value (profit) and values (impact). While acknowledging that individuals act out of self-interest, Smith emphasizes virtues like prudence, justice, and beneficence to guide behavior. These #virtues ensure that self-interest does not harm society. Clearly, #capitalism has veered off course, creating an unprecedented social divide, leading to material depletion, environmental hazards, and moral decay.
