As we wrap up a successful 3-day event filled with insightful community dialogue, one key takeaway stands out: when citizens are excluded from decision-making, policies often fail to meet their needs. Without active participation, development efforts become disconnected, leaving vulnerable communities behind. For true sustainable development, we must prioritize community engagement and ensure that citizens are included in every step. Only through inclusive dialogue can we craft impactful, people-centered policies that align with the SDGs and foster long-lasting change. Let’s continue building a future where every voice is heard, and no one is left behind. #CommunityEngagement #SustainableDevelopment #InclusiveGrowth #SDGs #LeaveNoOneBehind #TwendekazinaSDGs #DecadeofAction Centre for Multiparty Democracy Kenya | PACJACI | United Disabled Persons of Kenya UDPK | VSO | Usawa Agenda | Champions for SDGs Youth

🌾 EMPOWERING RESILIENCE: Supporting Women in Crisis-Affected Communities 🌾 During my recent interactions with inspiring women in rural areas affected by the farmer-herder crisis, I was reminded of the resilience and determination of the typical Nigerian woman. These women, despite facing significant challenges, embody diligence and unwavering commitment to their families and communities. Through the intervention efforts of the NRC, we are not only providing support but fostering an environment where peace and stability allow these women to flourish. With the right resources and a supportive, peaceful setting, they can overcome obstacles and continue to uplift their communities. It’s moments like these that underscore the importance of inclusive development and sustainable peacebuilding. Together, we are laying the foundation for lasting change in Plateau State and Adamawa State. #WomenEmpowerment #PeaceBuilding #CommunityResilience #SustainableDevelopment #NRC #FarmerHerderConflict #RuralDevelopment #Nigeria #InclusiveGrowth #NGOsForChange

The #globaldev and #humanitarian sectors are changing. 13 International NGOs have signed a pledge to build a stronger aid ecosystem based on the principles of solidarity, humility, self-determination, and equality. Kate Moger, Global Director of Pledge for Change, says that the movement driving change cannot be centered in the Minority World or Global North. Equally, the burden cannot be transferred to the Majority World or Global South. Instead, a collaborative effort is needed - and one led by the Majority World. Kate Moger and Sidhee Patel talk on our #podcast to Dr. Nompilo Ndlovu (Ph.D) and Kate Bird. 📢 Listen on Spotify and Apple Podcasts 👀 Watch on YouTube 📜 Download the full transcript from our website 🔗 Links in the comments below Dr. Nompilo Ndlovu (Ph.D), Rutendo Nyaku, Kate Moger, Sidhee Patel, West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI), Re-imagining the INGO (RINGO), Plan International, Oxfam International, CARE International UK, CARE International, Cordaid, FHI 360, MEDA (Mennonite Economic Development Associates), Mercy Corps, Save the Children International, SOS Children's Villages International, SOS-Kinderdörfer weltweit, IRC, Women for Women International, #pledgeforchange, Adeso, #ingo,#ngo, #socialmovement, #civilsociety, #shiftthepower, #power, #antiracism, #antiracist, #decolonise, #decolonize, #localize, #localise, #socialjustice, #participation

Every year, from November 25 to December 10, the world observes the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, a campaign that aims to raise awareness and mobilize action to end all forms of violence against women and girls. USAID is helping communities #Rwanda combat gender-based violence, promote healthy family dynamics, and promote peace. #16DaysofActivism
During these 16 days of activism, our community facilitators in the project "USAID Dufatanye Urumuri" are leveraging the trust built within the community to educate on the importance of rejecting gender-based violence, promoting complementarity in family relationships, and fostering a peaceful environment that promotes economic development in households. BÆREKRAFTSUKA 2024 ✨ "Civil society in Kenya engages in radical and transformative activism, human rights advocacy and social accountability for county and national governments, promoting good governance that is essential to achieving the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals. We collaborate with social movements to challenge political processes, informal powers and social norms, and include historically marginalized groups promoting the concept of the 2030 Agenda to 'leave no one behind'. We organize communities to advance civic spaces and people’s power with the bigger aim of transforming structures that violate human rights. We champion a system that values human rights and social justice." Hallima Nyota, Executive Director of Rising to Greatness Organization #Bærekraftsuka 🌍 🌎 🌏
