I've gone from "Hello World" to "Help, my code is on fire!" – my journey to becoming a software engineer is proving to be a wild ride. At first, I felt overwhelmed. Keeping up with lecturers was tough, and my classmates seemed like tech wizards. Despite feeling out of my depth, I decided to face the challenge head-on. Sure, I didn’t know what an API was or how to integrate it, but I was determined to learn. Perseverance paid off. I started enjoying the small details that brought projects to life and felt pure joy closing the 100 tabs open after fixing a single bug. If there's one thing I've learned, it’s to appreciate and enjoy the process, not just rush to the end goal. As they say, "The journey is the reward," and I’m finding truth in every step. Okay, let's not get too emotional. On to the achievements!⭐ I recently completed an extensive 8 Week Web Development course with SheCodes, where I sharpened my JavaScript skills and finally understood how APIs work. My final project was a Weather App that shows accurate current weather data and forecasts using API integration. GitHub: https://lnkd.in/dtQu4_is So grateful to the SheCodes Foundation for this opportunity. Looking forward to more milestones ahead! #SoftwareEngineering #CodingJourney #WebDevelopment #SheCodes #WomenInTech

🎉 We Won at DeveloperWeek 2024 Hackathon! 🚀 I'm thrilled to share that our team, including the incredible Jojo Wang and Oliver Gao, was one of the winners at the DeveloperWeek 2024 Hackathon. This event is the largest challenge-driven hackathon, attracting over 2,000 participants from the globe. This was our first hackathon, and we dived into learning Next.js, Convex, and Descope in just two weeks. Our collective hard work and dedication led to the development of a working site featuring most of the MVP features we envisioned. Together, we won the Descope Challenge for building a B2Anything Onboarding Flow and the Convex Challenge for the Best App built on Convex. Our project is a code-sharing platform aimed at student developers and the wider coder community. It's designed to facilitate feedback, foster enjoyment in building projects, encourage collaboration, and contribute to the open-source community. It reminds us of why we started coding: to learn, build, and enjoy the process. Check out our project here: https://lnkd.in/gDj2gaF4 Here's to bringing our idea to life and embarking on more coding adventures! 🌟 #hackathon #codingjourney

Despite encountering network challenges, I regrettably did not do much on Day 2 of my #100DaysOfALX coding challenge. However, I dedicated myself to mastering HTML, a pivotal skill as I embark on crafting a static web platform for my AirBnB project. Gratitude is extended to @IreneAragona for hosting an enlightening Girls Tech Talk, which served as a source of inspiration. With renewed determination, I am mapping out my journey into JavaScript, with the invaluable support of my coding companion. #ALX_SE #Grit #100DaysOfALX, #consistencyiskey
