Back in Asia: Reflecting on an Inspiring Trip to Japan and Hong Kong It’s hard to put into words the joy of being back in a region that holds such a special place in my heart. This past week, I had the privilege of visiting Japan and Hong Kong for a combination of work and connection, and the experience left me excited for the opportunities ahead. In Japan, the highlight was meeting our incredible new colleagues from the Dia Rix acquisition. I also spent meaningful time with Aon Japan’s leadership team planning for 2025 growth. Finally I had the chance to meet a key client and hear from them directly on their key issues. The collaboration and innovative ideas exchanged during our meetings reaffirmed my belief in the enormous opportunities the Japan market presents over the next few years. Amazing what can be achieved in 48 hours.... From there, I traveled to Hong Kong to focus on supporting our Enterprise Client Leadership strategy days. The city’s energy and dynamism never fail to inspire, and the conversations we had with key partners reinforced the importance of delivering meaningful solutions that drive impact in the region. This trip reminded me of the power of connection—across teams, cultures, and industries. Looking forward to the next steps in this exciting journey! 🌏

A few years ago, while working in the European Parliament in Brussels, I often asked myself: “When will it be my time to shine with my own project?” I’ve been fortunate to build an exciting career—working with global leaders, closing deals across continents, and connecting people in ways that seemed impossible. Yet, there was always something missing: I wanted my experience, my network, and my passion for international relations to serve a greater purpose. Today, from Madrid, I’m shaping a project that combines my two greatest passions: strategic communication and global connections. I truly believe success isn’t achieved alone; it’s built through people, alliances, and by creating bridges between cultures, businesses, and visions. My mission is to make things happen—leading projects, connecting the right people, and building opportunities where others only see barriers. To me, true luxury lies not only in material things but in the connections that transform lives and the experiences that leave a lasting impact. Elegance in relationships, exclusivity in alliances, and purpose in every step. The path isn’t easy, but I’m driven by the certainty that when you believe in your vision and work with passion, results will follow. If you’re at a point where you’re ready to build something greater, I’d love to connect. Together, we can create meaningful impact. What drives you to keep moving forward? #relacionesinternacionales #networkingefectivo #strategiccommunication #globalconnections #madrid #leadership #diplomaciacultural #inspiration

Stepping out of your comfort zone often involves facing fears & uncertainties. "Fear stops people from capitalizing on opportunity. In one way or another, fear prevents us from getting what we want from our lives" - The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz. Whether it's trying a new activity, taking a career break, meeting new people, or challenging your beliefs, these experiences can enhance your confidence and broaden your perspective. While I was in Singapore, I had the pleasure to reconnect with a former colleague, Wilfrid Foo who is now the MD of Jardine Cycle & Carriage Singapore. We both shared the same worries and concerns after deciding to leave our comfortable jobs in Nestlé . One thing for sure, it was the right & brave decision for us as we both ultimately been successful in our own path now. Fear is real! and the number one enemy of success. Yet, how we think determines how we act and eventually will take you to greater possibilities. #LeavingYourComfortZone #CEO #ManagingDirector #Malaysia #Singapore #Retail #Leadership

Catching up with a former team-mate is always special, especially when the conversation centers around their well-earned promotion. Two weeks back during his trip to Singapore, I had the chance to reconnect with Ankit Jain, who has stepped into the role as the Head of Proposal Management, a position I once held. Watching him grow into this leadership role is a testament to his dedication, hard work, and the power of internal promotion. I took the opportunity to share some of my own experiences from the role, hoping to provide insights that might help him navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead. Exciting times for him! Sounds cliche, but leadership is as much about empowering others as it is about driving results, and I have no doubt Ankit will do both with excellence (no pressure there Ankit 😜). For me , on a personal level, what makes this journey even more rewarding is seeing how investing in our team members’ development pays off, not just for the individuals but for the entire organization. Promotions from within not only ensure continuity and cultural alignment but also serve as a powerful motivator for the rest of the team. To all leaders out there, never underestimate the value of nurturing talent within your team. Your future leaders might already be sitting around your table, you just have to give them the time and chance to prove themselves.

We've been talking for quite awhile now, but there was never really an opportunity to meet🥲 The first thing that Brett said to me was, "you've been busy haven't you? I can tell through LinkedIn😂" & I replied "well yea of course! when you get opportunities to meet with Insightful Leaders like yourself, you gotta share these insights with people!" Brett & I shared about Company Leadership, Culture & its corelation with Talent Development and Talent Retention.... I shared that Opportunities for Personalised Growth & Development are critical in any Company whether it is a lateral growth or a vertical growth. A company's leadership will benefit well from Empowering their talents to have majority ownership to their roles. In which he was as well completely aligned with. A truth bomb that transformed my perspective: In the realm of international leadership, there's no such thing as a 'one-size-fits-all' policy. How do you navigate through the labyrinth of diverse market dynamics and cultural subtleties while spearheading teams across Central and Eastern Europe along with the Mediterranean? To put it bluntly, it's no cakewalk 😅. Reflecting back on my maiden voyage to the Czech Republic, I was riddled with leadership challenges. My initial approach was to apply the identical leadership style I had utilized in Poland, assuming their proximity would mean similar work cultures. I couldn't have been more wrong. Every team, every market has its unique temperament. Here's what I learned: 1. Adapting to market specifics: Deep analyses and integration of local behaviors are fundamental in fine-tuning strategic planning. Having the ability to zoom in and out, depending on the need of the hour, is crucial. 2. Culturally resonant approach: Empathy and active listening play a pivotal role here. Tailor your approach to align with the cultural and business context of each team you manage. 3. Encouraging diversity: Actively nurture an environment where heterogenous teams can find a common platform, fostering collaboration and driving innovation. Did you ever have to stray from your usual style to be successful? Feel free to share your experiences. ✍️ Have you ever had to adapt your leadership style to better fit a new team or market? ♻️ Share if you found this helpful.

Isn't it funny how life can come full circle without you even realising it? 💭 It's been 10 days since I arrived back in Europe. After celebrating my parents' 50th anniversary last Saturday with a massive wedding, we headed to Lake Garda ( 🇮🇹) for the last few days, taking a clear break from my desk and my usual full life. As I'm back in Europe—a place that always seemed too small for what I wanted to achieve when I grew up here —I'm now reflecting on how I can spend more time here again. Many of my Australian and US-based clients are keen to explore Europe further, and I'm excited [and surprised] to see more Europeans becoming clients too. A concept I've been working on for a while is hosting exclusive masterminds worldwide, offering personalised coaching, professional development and training, updated headshots and content creation, as well as chill time with yoga, chef-prepared meals, and candid conversations on topics most C-suite leaders rarely discuss. I'm excited about the opportunities to connect, collaborate, and grow together. If you're in Europe and looking to explore new ventures or simply share ideas, send me a holla, ciao, hallo, or whatever language you speak! I can answer in 4 :) #PersonalBranding #MasterMinds #ExecutiveCoaching #ExecutiveBranding #Leadership

When was the last time you changed your mind? Or the last time you were in the thick of an intense, intelligent, and nuanced debate that had you rethinking your assumptions? I found all this and more at the Singapore Leaders Network (SGLN) 2nd Anniversary Celebration. The highlight: a debate with the motion "Singaporeans have what it takes to be global business leaders today." DBS CEO Piyush Gupta and Deloitte's Michelle Khoo (proposition) faced off against ExxonMobil Asia Pacific MD Geraldine Chin and lawyer Joel Shen (opposition). The result? A powerful tie that left us all thinking about the topic long after the debate. The proposition discussed Singapore's strong education and business foundation, citing economic success and a list of Singaporean C-suites in all corners of the globe. The opposition argued that while we have the flour and milk to bake the cake, “ingredients do not a dish make”. We don’t quite have the X factor yet – including being bolder, more risk-taking, having a less parochial perspective, and a stronger slate of global leaders on the world stage. I particularly loved the audience insights. Chiming in from both ends of the motion were spirited, sharp comments from young execs to start-up leaders to experienced businesspeople. Having lived in six cities in three countries since my teens and worked in multinationals for three decades, I've straddled both sides of the global and regional leadership fence. While I went into last night’s debate with my own biases, the range of views made me confront my own biases and reconsider my notions of success and leadership. The debate also reflected what it takes to lead across cultures: actively seeking diverse viewpoints and embracing opportunities to have our minds changed. Today’s world is more interconnected and complex than ever. If we don’t experience being immersed in different countries and cultures, how do we learn to communicate, let alone lead, across them? PS. Thanks SLGN for a great event. Terrific speakers, great audience insights, and lots of interesting discussions over dinner with people I’d only just met. And I have to admit, the popcorn and the laksa were fabulous. #leadership #communication #leadershipcommunication
