🏛 Much is happening on the state and local level as communities come together to focus on student learning recovery. The Federal government is weighing in as well. ⚖ Last month the current administration laid out an agenda for US academic achievement, committing to using accountability, reporting, grants, and technical assistance to drive adoption of three evidence-based strategies that improve student learning: 1️⃣ increasing student attendance 2️⃣ providing high-dosage tutoring 3️⃣ increasing summer learning and extended or after-school learning time

Did you know that we have both in-person and virtual options for our 2025 CHOICES conference? This conference takes place February 19, 20 in-person, on campus at the University of Alberta (North Campus), and on February 21 virtually for any rural schools who cannot make it to campus. Grade 6 girls and gender-diverse students are encouraged to participate. Registration is done by schools (teachers, administrators) and not by individuals (students, parents). If you are a student who would like to participate, we encourage you to talk to your teacher. Though registration is generally done on a first come first served basis, spaces will be held for rural and underserved schools. We know that education is the key to children building the best life they can whatever their background - and quality of teaching is the most significant school-based factor influencing educational outcomes. We welcome the new government’s commitment to recruiting 6500 new specialist teachers, and to retaining and upskilling the current workforce, making a world-class education available to every child in the UK and breaking down barriers to opportunity. Our Education Strategy Lead Dave Gibbs explores the full value of subject-specific teacher CPD and why government investment in this area pays for itself: https://bit.ly/3ALGLFn
