On #ClinicalTrialsDay, we highlight the crucial role of clinical trials in advancing medical science and improving patient care. These trials are foundational in evaluating new treatments, determining their effectiveness, and ensuring patient safety, driving forward the innovation in healthcare. The Importance of Diversity in Clinical Trials: Diversity in clinical trials is essential for several key reasons: - **Genetic Variations:** Different responses to treatments across diverse genetic backgrounds underline the need for personalized medical solutions. - **Wider Applicability:** Including a variety of participants ensures the results can be generalized to a broader population, making the findings more reliable and applicable universally. - **Equity in Healthcare:** A diverse participant pool in clinical research promotes equity, ensuring all population segments have access to advanced treatments and contributing to reducing health disparities. International Clinical Trials Day serves as a reminder of the importance of inclusivity in clinical research. By prioritizing diversity, we can ensure that healthcare advancements benefit everyone, leading to a healthier, more equitable future. #CTD2024 PPD Thermo Fisher Scientific CorEvitas, LLC #Research #DEI

Consumers expect more out of #pharma and #lifesciences. The industry is held to a higher standard than others - one where we are not just responsible for making medicines, but for solving societal problems. Given that 80% of health outcomes are attributable to factors outside of clinical care, what is the life science industry's locus of responsibility? Healthcare solutions - whether medicines or medical devices - do not have a chance if the 80% is not understood and taken into account along each step of the drug development journey. Please join us in widening the industry's lens and tune in to Luminous recent podcast with Patients As Partners in Clinical Research Community News in which we discuss the benefits of a #biopsychosocial approach to medicine development in improving outcomes for patients, business and society. We'll dive into emerging methodologies, such as applied biosemiotics, and how we can combine principles from the social sciences with those in the life sciences to improve therapeutic development and delivery. I continue to be inspired by our life sciences clients who are embracing their social responsibility in a meaningful and impactful way. A big thank you to the The Conference Forum team for your support and for this important dialogue. Looking forward to the #PatientsAsPartners conference this month! A great summary of how the investment/innovation/reward cycle works. Captures the antibiotic problem painfully well. Reward too small, innovation/investment smaller. Fix this problem by unlocking value/reward and the insurance (DRG) problem. Fix the US market first and the whole world benefits.
