In my years of working alongside incredible leaders in pharma, biotech, and medtech, I've learned so much about the challenges they face. Many of these leaders are open to innovation at the tactical level, but strategic decisions often rely on traditional tools that aren't evolving at the same pace as other industries. It’s humbling to witness the dedication of these bright minds who continue to push forward despite the limitations. My hope is that we can begin to better equip them with the tools they need to thrive in their roles and ensure no patient misses out on life-changing therapies. A valuable lesson I've learned from a career in high-growth organizations: scale is something to combat, not pursue. Traditional organizational models and top-down leadership structures are in some ways medieval holdovers, unfit for our current pace of technological innovation and modern customer experience. No wonder why the F500 turns over faster than a hand in Texas Hold 'Em. The GenAI revolution may finally accelerate a transition to more collaborative and decentralized operating models.
