🎄 Why hiring (or at least interviewing) before Christmas is a smart move! 🎄 As the year winds down, we see some businesses put hiring on hold until January – but bringing in new talent before Christmas or lining up your next hire, has some distinct advantages: ⭐ Get Ahead of the New Year Rush: January is a busy time for recruitment, with many businesses competing for the best talent. Hiring or having people in process before Christmas gives you a head start and helps you avoid the scramble. ⭐ Easier Onboarding: December is often a quieter period, making it an ideal time for a smooth, low-stress onboarding. New starters can settle in, meet the team, and familiarise themselves with the company culture at a comfortable pace. ⭐ Boost Year-End Productivity: Knowing that extra support is coming can help maintain momentum, keep projects on track, and relieve pressure on the rest of the team. ⭐ Lift Team Spirits: Welcoming a new team member (even just inviting a prospective hire/individual starting in January to your festive celebrations) can energise the team, creating a positive start and setting the tone for the year ahead. Don’t overlook this valuable hiring window, a strategic Christmas hire could set your team up for a stronger start to the new year! 🎉 If you'd like to discuss this further, reach out and I can put you in touch with the relevant consultant who works in your roles/area 🙏 #Hiring #FinancialPlanning #WealthManagement

🚨 Don’t wait until January to recruit! 🚨 Jonny’s spot on in his latest post and it's something I'm starting to talk more and more about with my practice clients. ❌ Why wait? Tax season is around the corner, and January is already chaotic with year-end reports and planning. ❌ Fewer candidates – Top talent will be snapped up before the new year, and both clients and candidates will have less availability for interviews. ❌ Hasty onboarding – The busy period leaves less time to properly onboard your new hires when you need them most. ✅ Get ahead now – Secure the best in the market, ease the onboarding process, and give your new team members a chance to settle in during the festive period, before the busy season. 🎄
📈 Hiring in Q4: How to Stay Ahead of the Curve📈 Here we are—the final calendar quarter of 2024, and for many businesses, the final financial sprint of the year. Often, it feels like a mad dash towards the new year, trying to tie up loose ends before the real fun of year-end closes in. January? It’s always a whirlwind—catching up on everything post-holiday (I can't quite bring myself to say the festive "C" word yet), strategic planning, year-end reports, and let’s not forget, Tax Season for those in practice. With all that in mind, there’s no better time than now to start thinking about those crucial Q1 hires. Ever found yourself saying: “I need to recruit, but I’m too busy to recruit”? As a recruiter, I hear this all too often. It’s a trap that can leave you playing catch-up against the market. Here’s what we commonly see: ❌ Reduced availability and flexibility for interviews ❌ Rushed recruitment processes, which increase the risk of poor hiring decisions ❌ Hasty onboarding, leading to negative first impressions for new hires So, why not get ahead this Q4 and avoid all of that stress? Making hiring decisions now sets you up for a smoother transition into the new year. Here’s how: ✅ Avoid January Competition – January is always packed with recruitment activity, and more competition means fewer candidates. Hiring in Q4 puts you in a prime position to snap up top talent early. ✅ Candidate Motivation – Many candidates are reflecting on their careers at the end of the year, looking for progression or change. Be the one to offer them their next step before the new year rush. ✅ Utilise End-of-Year Events – Bring new hires along to any end-of-year team do's. It’s a great way to integrate them into the team and start their onboarding informally before they officially start in January. If your team has hiring needs, now’s the time to start those conversations. By staying ahead of the Q1 rush, you’ll set your team up for a smooth, focused start to 2025. #Talentplanning #Hiring #Finalcountdown

As a Q4 hire in both my current role and previous position, I have to make a shameless plug for hiring in Q4. I know most think January is a great time to onboard and bring in new team members, but I have some compelling reasons as to why that puts and your team behind the curve. 1) Team building: With the holidays and team events happening in Q4 it is an ideal time to bring on a new employee, immerse them in the culture and community of the team while allowing them to acclimate and assimilate. This creates some already built-in opportunities for organic team building and collaboration, which is the foundation of any great team. 2) Headstart: By onboarding in Q4, candidates essentially have an extra month or two to learn about projects, processes and systems. This means January 1, they are not just now learning... they are leading and running projects, giving you a head start to new hires just starting in January. 3) Less competition: With fewer organizations hiring in Q4, you have the top pick of available talent. Meaning you get the best of the best! https://lnkd.in/gAusvT7K

An experienced Recruiter. I fill Job roles & save hiring managers time [email protected] Director DC Personnel
We’ve had another successful permanent candidate placed at our long standing client yesterday, to share the news with him on Friday was brilliant. Often as recruiters it is all too easy to get wrapped up in many other things but ultimately this is why we do what we do. If you want to partner with a recruitment business that genuinely cares about its workforce and lends as much support as best we can get in touch with us. We do this in a number of ways here are just 5 examples... • Give positive feedback after a workers first working week, we do this for every single new starter • Visiting clients sites to speak to our workforce either in small groups or 1-1 sessions • Giving pointers from clients in areas of their work to improve on • We get back in touch with any questions or worker queries asap, being contactable around the clock • We provide regular updates on any changes to their working week Might seem simple stuff but we’ve found this can go a long way, helps build trust and forms continuous engagement. Looking to hire you can get us on 📞 0116 243 0540 or visit here https://lnkd.in/e7vPwBFF to tell us what you are looking for and we'll come back to you

I’ve hired for 100’s of startups & scaleups over the past 13 years, and there’s one thing that sets the best apart from the worst… …Transparency ✨ It drastically improves 3 things.. 👉 Hiring process 👉 Candidate Experience 👉 Retention & Success of Hire And any recruiter that’s experienced both truly transparent & non-transparent orgs will tell you same. Here’s 3 things you can do now to be a little more transparent… 1️⃣ Document a detailed hiring process (and stick to it) 2️⃣ Be explicit about working hours and location (most think they are but 99% really arent) 3️⃣ Build a culture doc or similar that you can share that details your core ways of working… help people opt in or out. Oh… and share the freakin’ salary!! 🙏

With yesterday’s sunshine and daffodils blooming, it finally feels like springtime may be on its way. Signs of new growth are also noticeable for many of our clients, who we have been working with over the past few weeks to help them capitalise on forthcoming opportunities. For example, we are currently: 🤝 Creating recruitment campaigns for both volume seasonal work and key strategic hires to ensure the right match of skills, attitudes and values. 🏘 Supporting merger and relocation activities. 💡 Designing and delivering training to develop line management capabilities. 💻 Introducing HR software to make back-office processes more efficient so admin and management time can be spent more productively on the things that matter. 📢 Drafting internal communications so employees understand what’s happening and are on board with change. Whatever your business plans for the year ahead, there will be implications for your people. This is where we step in to support you in ensuring your team is in the best shape to meet the challenges ahead. Want to find out more? You'll find out more about how we've supported our clients here: https://lnkd.in/g2n4RiJH or get in touch on [email protected] PS - If you don’t already have corporate branded pottery for your business (who doesn’t?), then you'll need my husband Jonathan Roynon's business not mine. The message from my client meetings this week is "we're definitely looking to hire, but probably not until the New Year". What I do want to highlight, is that there is a HUGE opportunity to secure exceptional talent before the Christmas break. ⭐ Consider securing some temporary resource, with a candidate who is interested in the role permanently too. Trial them pre-Christmas, have them start perm on the 6th / 13th Jan! ⭐ People love an extended break, open conversations could result in them onboarding pre-Christmas and then having some LWOP over the break. ⭐ It gives employers first mover advantage, a lot of companies coming back from the break looking to hire are going to be competing for the same talent and you have the opportunity now to interview first!
