Revealing insight in how advertisers in France spend advertising on local media. Presented by Alexis Goujon and Xavier Guillon via Les relocalisateurs : 1. One-third of every euro spent goes to local media. 2. Local advertisers make up 75 per cent of local media spending. 3. Rising living costs in 2023 led to more spending on promotions. 4. Despite digitalisation, direct mail and door drops account for almost 21% of local spending. 5. Direct mail/door drops and owned media make up more than half (55 per cent) of the budget for national advertisers in local media compared (43 per cent) to local advertisers. 6. The distribution sector is the biggest advertiser in local media. 7. 13 per cent of national advertisers plan to increase spending on local media in 2024, while 8 per cent plan to decrease. In their comments on the results Dorothée Caulier of CoSpirit Media urges advertisers "spend more money on French media as this is key for our economy and our democracy". Planning and buying processes for local media have much improved, including now relevant insights and further automation such as programmatic advertising says Mickaël Henry from Dentsu. This brings the planning process for local media on par with national media. The shift from direct mail and door drops to owned media confirms the shift observed from retailers such as E.Leclerc and others. #prospectus #mailing #printmedia #localmedia #advertisingeffectiveness Arnaud DUBIN ✔ Géomarketing ✔ Médias Locaux ✔Digital Sebastian Mitter Mark Davies European Letterbox Marketing Association (ELMA) Thomas Hopman
