These puzzles combine words and visual clues, where the positioning, size, and design elements all hint toward a common phrase or word. They encourage people to look at familiar concepts in new ways, which is a core aspect of innovation. The term "Rebus" has its roots in Latin, meaning "by things". Historically, rebuses were used in heraldry and other ancient communication forms, but today they’re popular for stimulating problem-solving skills and creative thinking. The call is now open for workshop proposals for the 2025 IEEE Conference on Automatic Face and Gesture Recognition, taking place next May in Clearwater, Florida. Accepted workshops will be held on either May 26 or May 30, 2025, in the same venue as the #FG2025 main conference. We especially encourage workshop proposals relating to emerging new fields or new application domains of face and gesture analysis and synthesis.
