Change is the only constant! Over the past 4 years, this lesson has been a cornerstone of my journey. Usually, on LinkedIn, this is where people might announce a company closure, but not us! Reflection Friday: My Time at ProamxBDA As I reflect on my time as CEO of ProamxBDA (now called The Global Entertainment Marketing Academy of Arts & Sciences) one theme stands out: my commitment to introducing marketing executives across the entertainment spectrum to groundbreaking technologies and innovations. Our mission was clear: help make our members and their teams more efficient, effective, and productive in an ever-evolving landscape. Here's how we approached this challenge: 1. Quarterly Innovation Workshops We launched a series of quarterly workshops, each showcasing three major technologies or innovations poised to disrupt our space. These sessions weren't just about networking— it was about learning and fostering active engagement with the future of our industry. 2. Curating the Cutting Edge Our conferences evolved beyond just celebrating great work (though the legendary Lee Hunt, john miller, George Schweitzer, Lisa Gregorian, Scott Rowe, Michael Benson, Jenny Wall, Adam Stotsky and other sessions remained a staple!). We made it our mission to fill the agenda with presentations on emerging technologies, tools, and innovations. From social media to social listening, media attribution platforms to content discovery technologies, we ensured our community was always ahead of the curve. 3. Bridging Innovators and Investors I worked closely with key decision-makers responsible for major investments in entertainment, media, and broadcasting. Together, we identified up-and-coming companies that could reshape our industry. This not only benefited our members but also fostered an ecosystem of innovation within entertainment marketing. 4. Cultivating an Innovation Mindset Perhaps most importantly, we instilled a culture of curiosity and forward-thinking among our members. By consistently exposing them to new ideas and technologies, we encouraged a mindset that didn't just adapt to change, but anticipated and embraced it. Looking back, I'm proud of how we transformed PromaxBDA into a hub of innovation. In today's rapidly evolving digital landscape, this approach is more crucial than ever. Now that the badges have been packed away and the jetlag has worn off, reflecting on #CannesLions2024 feels like a dream … yet the inspiration and energy I gained from this bucket list work week will remain.     Cannes was a whirlwind of groundbreaking ideas, inspiring discussions, and unforgettable memories with #TeamBayer and our partners. Every moment was a reminder of the transformative power of creativity, and after two weeks, I’m still digesting all of my learnings.    While it’s impossible to summarize everything, here are my top 4 takeaways from #CannesLions2024:   The Staying Power of AI: AI is a powerful tool for creativity, with numerous sessions showcasing its potential to revolutionize content creation. While AI can enhance creativity, human oversight and ethical considerations are crucial to ensure authenticity and avoid biases.  Sustainability remains vital: Many companies demonstrated their commitment to environmentally responsible practices. There was a strong emphasis on creating campaigns that not only resonate with consumers but also contribute positively to our planet and our people.   Authenticity in purpose-driven marketing builds trust: Purpose-driven marketing continues to dominate discussions, highlighting the importance of aligning brand values with social causes. Successful campaigns showcased how brands can address societal issues such as diversity, inclusion, and mental health.  Collaborative efforts lead to greater impact: Co-creation was shown to enhance creativity, leveraging diverse perspectives and skills, and foster a sense of community and ownership among audiences.      Thrilled I was able to represent Bayer | Consumer Health with Brand Innovators, PRWeek, Weber Shandwick and through the various learning sessions/meetings/social events and who can forget the Spotify party!
