This hasn't been a very desirable week this month But, this is why I still don't feel like skipping LinkedIn for even a single day⬇ Amid a few personal hiccups this week that gave me 👉🏼 Hours of overthinking 👉🏼 Self-doubts 👉🏼 Unrealistic urge to figure out a few things within a single day I received close to 3-4 messages from different people I know and those I don't, appreciating my content on LinkedIn This hasn't happened for the first time or this isn't the last time that it's happening (because I'll make sure it doesn't) But, the fact that my thoughts and experiences inspire people to take action to get their lives in shape is a motivation enough to continue doing what I'm doing. Many people have asked how I grew my LinkedIn following so quickly. (we are chasing 10k in 4+ months). Honestly, sometimes I wonder how it happened 🤔 I've NEVER had any viral post. My growth has been purely organic, one follower at a time. Here are my insights and observations. (I hope they help someone just starting out): 1. I create valuable content😎. 2. I genuinely care about others. 3. I’ve never worried about shadow banning “Top creators” or solely engaging with them. (If your post makes sense to me, I engage meaningfully whether you have 100k followers or 10) 4. I have been authentic in sharing my experiences, lessons, challenges, and wins. 5. I maintain a positive outlook, and I think people are drawn to that light💡. Big bonus: Respected persons like Banda, Chiebuka and others have mentioned me a couple of times and encouraged others to follow me. I truly appreciate their support - it motivates me to keep going. Not long ago, a client told me something I hear all the time: ‘I tried posting once or twice,didn’t work. I don’t have time for this.’ His posts? Barely getting 100 views. Engagement? Zero. He felt invisible. It sucked :) The problem was him talking to himself and not his audience. And that hit hard. …Fast forward to this week: 5,110 eyeballs in 7 days. A 384% jump. Here’s the thing: this wasn’t luck. → Viral fame? Absent. → Ease? No. → Challenge? Absolute. It was weeks of tweaking, testing, and failing. Learning what their audience actually cared about, and what they didn’t. No fluff. No “look how great I am” vibes. Instead, every post became a conversation. A story. A way to add value. Little by little, the numbers climbed. But more importantly? → People noticed. Here’s what I’ve learned (and maybe you need to hear this too): LinkedIn doesn’t reward the loudest person in the room. It rewards the one who shows up consistently, day after day, ready to help. They say, brick by brick :) So, if you feel like no one’s listening to you right now? ☑︎ Keep going. ☑︎ Keep adjusting. ☑︎ Keep showing up. Because eventually, they will.

Celebrating 2,000 Amazing Followers! I'm overwhelmed with gratitude as I reach this milestone, and I want to thank each of you for being part of my journey. Despite the challenges I faced on the app (yes, I've had my fair share!), I refused to give up. I adapted, migrated to the website (not always easy, but worth it!), and continued connecting with incredible professionals like you. Here are two key takeaways from my growth: ✔️Consistency breeds credibility: Showing up daily, sharing insights, and providing value has helped me build trust. ✔️Meaningful connections trump numbers: Engaging with industry peers led to 500+ new followers in a short span! Lessons learned from a viral post I did a post here on LinkedIn last week that already has over 1.5M views. Here are the lessons I learned from it: Nothing. Ok, maybe that isn’t quite accurate. I did learn a few things: 1. Having a post go viral doesn’t matter. I don’t suddenly have people DMing me asking to work together. The return I’m seeing is no different than a post with 1000 views. 2. Once you hit a certain threshold your post is being seen by people outside your 2nd level connections and who aren’t in your industry area, let alone the target demographic for your message. 3. Because of the above, most of the commenters completed missed the point of the post and focused on something else. Their comments don’t contribute to the discussion and are often quite negative (in fact, I’ve actually had to delete several because they were so irrelevant or filled with negative energy). 4. I felt kind of proud at first. But that quickly went away as the quality of comments plummeted and LinkedIn didn’t give me any sort of award for the achievement. I don’t have any lingering sense of accomplishment, nor do I in any way feel like a better LinkedIn-er because a post went viral. Having a post go viral might initially be fun. Ego trip! But at this point, the only thing it has done is create irrelevant and negative comments for me to moderate. What I Hate About LinkedIn Hate may be a too-strong word, so there are things about LinkedIn that bug me. Last week, I talked up the parts I love, but let's balance the scale. Here’s what irks me: LinkedIn often feels too agreeable. It's a business network, yet we shy away from real debates. Everyone likes likes, but where's the challenge, the real discourse? The platform can become a parade of confirmations, not conversations. We're quick to applaud and slow to engage in meaningful dialogue. It's great to support each other, but can we also dare to disagree and delve deeper? Too many comments seem crafted for applause rather than adding value, with a good chunk possibly churned out by AI—how bland! Enough echo. Let’s push for content that challenges and discussions that delve beyond the surface. Haters gonna hate this post 💀 . . . But who cares? Hey LinkedIn family ❤️ I’ve just crossed 1K+ followers 🥳 I know this is a small number, and it might not matter to others, But it matters to me as this is my first milestone 🚩 So it deserves a mention 🙃 I remember, Right from crafting the first weird post to reaching 30,000+ impressions of my most viral post 🤯 The journey has been full of learning with moments of self-doubt and disappointment as I was juggling multiple things at a time. Being an engineering student, you’d relate me to the amount of stress that we go through each day. But hey, that’s a part of the process! I am thankful to all of you, my beloved followers 😇 And how can I forget my caring haters? They motivated me so much through this process Let’s call them Nervous Naysayers from now Let me share with you a short story I was always mocked down by some of my c̶l̶a̶s̶s̶m̶a̶t̶e̶s̶ Naysayers 😅 for my LinkedIn activities They never supported me constructively, rather just uttered one word - ‘No’ to whatever I did on LinkedIn whether it was a post or my profile. They wanted to dictate to me what should I post, what not to and blah-blah… Talking about them, they don’t even know what ‘impressions’ on LinkedIn are apart from the English word! And their posts always start with “I’m excited to announce that…”. Did I listen to them? Would these trolls stop me? Definitely not, I’ll continue to do this! Because I love writing content. I’ll just request them to continue motivating me! 😉 Now that we have a small community, I’m planning many things ahead Next milestone: 5K followers 💪🏻 Stay tuned and of course, follow me guys :) Also a big thanks to MANAV, Kuldeep, Kush who supported me through this journey. 6 Questions I wished I asked myself before joining LinkedIn I joined this platform without knowing what it was I didn't have any single skill (Story for another day) Here are 6 questions I wish I had asked myself before joining this platform -> Why do I want to join this platform? What is your purpose for joining LI -> Have I mastered the skill I want to use on LI? Am I good at what I do? -> Do I have the time, energy and resources for this platform? As a student or as a 9-5 er you need to ask yourself this question -> Am I ready to take risks? What if you lose your account and followers today...do you have a plan B? -> Am I emotionally ready? Are you ready to get low engagements, low post impressions, low followers, and no clients? -> Am I ready to be consistent? LinkedIn is not a journey for the weak, are you ready to be consistent no matter what? I wish I asked myself these questions but it's too late What question did you wish you asked yourself before joining LI? I blue 💙 y'all 

💡 Linkedin has been throttling my post engagement for at least a month and half, with no change in my posting schedule or strategy. Anyone else seeing this? Of course, my post quality could be going down, but subjectively I don't think that's true and objectively I post almost every week day. Reddit seems to think there was a large algorithm change, so maybe that is a point of leverage. #linkedin #engagement

Is frustration real........... . . . . The truth is that this feeling will come like you've never heard of it before but what keeps you going is what matters, focusing on your WHY is truly the way out most times.
