What a fantastic experience speaking at Lewis Silkin's first event on #socialmobility this week. It was a pleasure to join a panel with Lisa Slade from Accenture, Julia Paulding, Chartered FCIPD, and the brilliant Lee Elliot-Major OBE, Britain’s first Professor of Social Mobility, with the discussion excellently chaired by Jo Farmer. Each brought such insightful (and often personal) perspectives, and there was a great vibe in the room.🌟 We tackled some critical questions around social mobility—how we can break down barriers, create fairer opportunities, and drive real change in our workplaces. But the key takeaway? Collaboration is essential. It’s not a zero-sum game—one organisation’s success doesn’t come at the expense of another’s. The more we share ideas and work together, the more we can level the playing field and ensure no one is left behind. And not only that, but organisations can reap more business benefits of greater #socialmobility. 💡🤝 This event marks the first in a series, and we’ll be diving deeper into practical tips and strategies that organisations can adopt to make a real impact. But we want to hear from you—what challenges are you facing? What would you like to see covered in future discussions? Let’s continue the conversation and work together to build a more inclusive future for all. 👏💼 https://lnkd.in/eVeQNbAZ #SocialMobility #Diversity #Inclusion #Collaboration #WorkTogether

As someone who is personally passionate about this HR trend, I am thrilled to see companies leading the charge in creating inclusive environments for individuals with diverse neurological profiles. At Top Employers Institute, we want to inspire and educate people about the world of work. As part of that goal, last year, we began researching neurodiversity in the workplace by examining what organisations are currently doing and how that fits with the research theory on neurodiverse employees. Our research included 20 Top Employers from across the world. We got fantastic insights on what works and what is next related to neuro-inclusion. We will share what we learned later in the year, but today, we want to spotlight and celebrate some of our clients who participated in the pilot and are paving the way to a neuro-inclusive world of work. Thank you CHEP (Stefano Sollazzo), Avanade, Salutem Care and Education UK (Rachel Deans & Kirstie Jones), Bentley Motors (Emma Humphries & Wayne Bruce), Nestlé, Securitas UK (Sarah Hayes - Chartered(FCIPD)), Accenture in South Africa. These amazing organisations and people invest their hearts and souls in changing the status quo. Hats off to all of you! Are you interested in learning more about what your organisation can do to become more neuro-inclusive? I had such a great time at my first event with Glasgow Chamber of Commerce at the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion networking breakfast at Clockwise Offices in Savoy Tower. It was such a cool venue to see in person, and their coffee was real good too! During the presentation, I learned about the “Seven Rules of Inclusion Management” which interestingly shared a lot of similarities with sustainability communication. Data 🔢 – This provides awareness and an obvious area to focus on. It gives a benchmark to measure against and can be used to track progress. It helps with making decisions and with reporting down the line. Also a great way to get started! Supply chain ⛓ – Embedding good practices throughout the supply chain ensures that organisations are serious about wanting to make a difference. It’s one thing to have great internal policies, but if you are connected to suppliers that are in direct opposition to your organisation’s values, then it is hard to show that you really care about those issues. Targets 🎯 – This is why you collect data! To show what initiatives work (or don't work). Also, it is great to highlight the direction you are heading in so that any future players in your supply chain who may share a similar vision could help with creating collaborative opportunities that are mutually beneficial. Many wins! Accountability 🙋♂️ – Showing an awareness of the barriers you are facing can be an effective way for organisations to come on board and support you. Being honest when things go wrong and making a commitment to improve them is great practice. Action is the main thing, and getting started is what is important. Being afraid to make a mistake is what stops progress, but being accountable and open allows for constructive feedback which contributes towards meaningful progress. I will add in celebrate! 🎉 Celebrate the successes, show people what you have achieved and why it’s important to you. It helps to inspire others and show the progress you are making along the way! Thank you to Caitlin Hartley Laura Drakeford from FAIRER Consulting and Hays for a very enlightening way to start a Tuesday! Hope you enjoyed your time in Glasgow and that the haggis and whisky were what you had dreamed of. #EDI #equality #diversity #inclusion

Diversity isn’t an old, old wooden ship—and it’s not a tick-box exercise. Diversity is the rich tapestry of who we are. It encompasses both the visible and invisible attributes that shape our identities. From accents to communication styles, from the way we look to the way we think, diversity covers a broad spectrum of characteristics that define us. We've kicked off this year by diving headfirst into D&I within Yarno. In early February, we undertook a team-wide training session with our Employee Assistance Program ACCESS EAP, which was a great opportunity for us to learn more about the benefits of D&I and the actions we can take to build a more inclusive workplace. Research consistently underscores the value of diversity, showing that as teams get more diverse, their decisions get better—Cloverpop found that diverse teams make better decisions 87% of the time. The impact of better decisions? Better outcomes. That’s reflected in research from Deloitte, which found that diverse organisations are 6 times more likely to innovate and 8 times more likely to achieve better business outcomes. That's a win-win for me. There’s never been a better time to focus on creating more diverse and inclusive workplaces. In fact, we've created an off-the-shelf campaign on diversity & inclusion that could be just what your team needs. 🎯Promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace is a priority for ethical employers who want to optimize productivity and leverage the full potential of their workforce. How should we embrace #neurodiversity in the workplace?

⭐️ This week we’ve had a significant focus on helping Employee Resource Groups (#ERGs) to maximise their impact in their respective organisations ⭐️ We’re working with one client who established 6 ERGs from scratch this year and it’s no surprise they’ve experienced some frustration and growing pains as they try to get organised and get off the ground. It’s been a real pleasure to spend time with these ERG leaders and to share some experiences and advice to help them plan for growth and impact in 2025. Then yesterday, our Founder & CEO Gareth Whalley delivered a #keynote speech to the Community spokespeople of Deutsche Telekom, kindly invited by Ayse Semiz-Ewald and Cynthia Porschen. Key topics included: 🟠 The importance of #SelfCare for remaining objective and resilient when leading employee networks, especially in tough times 🟠 The potential power of strong relationships with #ExecutiveSponsors in amplifying the credibility, reach, and impact of ERG work 🟠 The need to find a balance between #intrapreneurship and #activism in ERG activities If your organisation is starting to harness the power of ERGs to bolster your #diversity, #equity and #inclusion strategy, or you need support and inspiration to take their impact to the next level, Big Bang can help - DM us or submit an inquiry via https://lnkd.in/eQ9SNA4J

Thursday last, Investigo had the privilege of bringing together senior HR and Talent leaders to explore how neurodiversity contributes to creating more inclusive workplaces! Special thanks to the incredible speakers for sharing their valuable insights, and to all the attendees who joined! 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬: ✨ 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞: Neurodiverse employees bring exceptional talents, with nearly 40% of entrepreneurs identifying as neurodiverse. A diverse workforce drives innovation, growth, and development. ✨ 𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐁𝐞 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐝: You don’t need to be an expert to hire neurodiverse individuals. Simply ask, “What support do you need?”—there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to neurodiversity. ✨ 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐇𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬: Offer candidates flexible ways to showcase their skills—whether through presentations, videos, or written formats. One process breeds one kind of thinker—more options create a more diverse team. ✨ 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲: Neurodiversity isn’t a limitation—it’s a strength! ✨ 𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥: Neurodiverse individuals often hyper-focus and thrive when given the right conditions. Small accommodations can lead to a 20% performance boost and build loyal, high-performing teams. ✨ 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲: Teams like EY’s Neuro-Diverse Centre of Excellence highlight the benefits of diverse thinking, moving beyond “tick-box” diversity toward meaningful inclusion. ✨ 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: Neuro-inclusive environments not only enhance productivity by 30% but also improve retention rates to 90%, demonstrating both personal and commercial benefits. ✨ 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐊𝐞𝐲: Breaking down stigma requires company-wide education and support, lifting others as we create a space where all voices are valued. ✨ 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬: Neurodiversity, such as dyslexia, can be a superpower—when supported, these individuals thrive and inspire those around them. Kudos to Gemma Case for organizing such an impactful event, and to Charlotte Roberts (Nee Lumley) for moderating the Q&A and introducing the panel. Stay tuned for future events!
