Responding to a mental health crisis is equally as important as providing first aid response to a medical emergency. Douglas County employees receive training on Mental Health First Aid through the National Council for Behavioral Health. This training identifies 5 steps (ALGEE) to provide first aid support to someone that may be experiencing a mental health or substance abuse disorder or crisis.
