When I first heard about design thinking, it sounded more like philosophizing about design. But I should be proven wrong. Discover the Big Misunderstanding of Design Thinking! In my latest video, "The Big Misunderstanding of Design Thinking," I explore common misconceptions about Design Thinking in the business world. Many think it’s disconnected from business or action, but this isn't the case. Let us clarify what a designer truly does: they craft and invent independently through research, ideation, prototyping, and testing. This process is shared by creatives like writers, graphic designers, and architects. In contrast, a Design Thinking Coach leads a team through this creative process, requiring exceptional leadership and diverse skills. Becoming an effective coach is far more complex than a three-day workshop. Learn how Design Thinking can elevate your work. Stay tuned and follow my channels for more insights. #innovation #innovationdesign #leadership #creativeleadership #designthinking #designthinkingplus #akinduyar

Why not start your next business session with a playful icebreaker? Write thought-provoking prompts on a beach ball, toss it around, and encourage everyone to share their ideas as they catch it. This not only breaks the ice but also stimulates creative thinking and collaboration. Bringing a tactile element into meetings can transform the atmosphere and foster deeper engagement. Incorporating design thinking into meetings isn’t just about fun—it’s a strategic approach that unlocks innovative ideas and ensures all voices are heard. It’s especially vital in business settings where creative solutions to complex problems are needed. By making interactions more dynamic and engaging, you're not just sharing ideas; you're building a creative culture that drives business forward. Micromanaging designers in Figma by constantly monitoring their every move isn't leadership—it's a recipe for stifled creativity. Empower your team by trusting their process and providing guidance only when needed. Creativity flourishes when given space to breathe. I found 4 similarities between Design Thinking Action Plan vs Strategy Action Plan- PART 1 1️⃣ Understanding and Empathy 🔍 In both Design Thinking and Strategy Action Plans- understanding and empathy are foundational. By deeply comprehending the context and perspectives of the target audience, we create solutions that truly address Needs. Pain points. Delighters. This approach not only ensure insights and clarity that will help to define the issue or problem better. For example- the Empathize Phase (Design Thinking) focus on target users to understand their needs so that you can further define the key problem to solve later. In Diagnose Phase (Strategy)- we take a different approach to look for an organisational perspective in understanding context, trends, competitors and future personas in order to have empathy. These Phases (Empathize and Diagnose) in the both Action Plan- are easily the most crucial mindset shift amongst all frameworks - EMPATHY - where most of us so readily leave out in our quest to solve problems or make strategies. _______________ 👋🏻 I'm Daniel Ling- CEO / Founder of Emerge Creatives Training Co and was Head of Design in the financial and e-commerce industry. 🌟 **Ever feel like your team brainstorming sessions are just... going in circles?** Hey! Imagine if every brainstorming session you led was so inspiring that ideas flowed effortlessly and everyone felt heard. Sounds like a dream, right? 🌟✨ **Here’s a game-changer**: Using *questions* in your storytelling can make your brainstorming sessions more dynamic and productive. Psychology shows that asking open-ended questions stimulates creative thinking and encourages participation. **Try this storytelling hack**: Next time you lead a brainstorming session, start by asking a thought-provoking question. For example, instead of saying, "We need new marketing ideas," try, "What if we had an unlimited budget and no constraints—how would we market our product?" This not only opens up the floor to creativity but also removes mental barriers, making the session more engaging and fruitful. **Your action step**: Think about your next brainstorming session. Prepare a few open-ended questions to kick things off. Notice how this changes the energy and the quality of ideas generated. Ready to make your brainstorming sessions unforgettable? Add some compelling questions and watch your team’s creativity soar! 🌟🧠 #StorytellingTips #EffectiveCommunication #BusinessStorytelling #Brainstorming #Leadership

❖ Why limit your project vision to a few sentences? ❖ In our recent Radical Roundtable on crafting a project vision, we explored ways to keep the big-picture purpose alive and evolving over time. A vision statement doesn’t need to be limited to a few sentences in a charter. Alternative formats can inspire and empower just as well, or better. Here are some ideas: → A vision board with words, graphics, and symbols. → A project journey map with milestones and key outcomes. → Infographics combining visuals and summary text. → Interactive whiteboards for team collaboration. → Video narratives featuring diverse perspectives. → Puzzle representations showing components and how they fit together. → Storytelling that builds a future scenario to bring the vision to life. Have you tried a non-traditional way to share a project vision? Let me know in the comments—I’d love to hear what you did and how it worked! #Leadership #BusinessGrowth #Communicate #SmarterProjects
