For reasons entirely related to my own marginal competence, I never posted links to my SRECon Europe 2024 talk. I have now received enough requests that I am now doing that. https://lnkd.in/eHcf9bej (I don't know why but perhaps it's the case that posting links in a post is bad in some way? I've seen cryptic comments by Liz Fong-Jones who definitely knows stuff about this. I think I'm ignorant enough and ambivalent enough to ignore whatever this is). ANYWAY: it's talk titled "Generative AI: Beyond (Just) Hype" for a production engineering audience. You can watch the video if you want. Or not. I'm a LinkedIn post, no a cop.
LinkedIn apparently deboosts posts that contain link in body, but not link in comment, because they want to keep eyeballs on platform, as I understand? but it's part of SEO/social media manager folklore at this point and I have no hard evidence one way or another and I optimise for what's easiest/best for my audience, not for the algorithm personally.
i for one still welcome the simpsons deep cuts
As always, your talks are very entertaining and insightful. Please publish more.
Thanks todd. Will check it out.
Great talk! Thank you for sharing.
Great talk Todd. Thank you for sharing!
My favorite nugget of this is that when doing the research for this talk one of the things I did was ask ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini to evaluate my prior claims and talks. The evaluations were somewhat similar to each other but ChatGPT and Gemini were both relentlessly positive about AI and felt the need to just take a moment to repeatedly remind me how great AI was going to be. Claude never did that.
