I am more than a person who speaks at conferences; I have lived the benefits of workforce development via my mother's transformation and as a former provider who helped countless job seekers achieve job and life success. Many of the people we served, particularly on the youth side of our work, are now adults, parents, and thriving. Their kids benefit from our work, helping their parents to break through in work and life, just as my mother was transformed in the 1970s. This one person who attended the #NAWDP National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP)Youth Symposium got it! This work is not just about now-it is about generations to come. If you are a leader in WD, please share this with your staff. Embracing the vision for the work you do can empower them to see the bigger picture. With all of our customers served as coaches and consultants in this industry, this is our primary goal. You need to know that you are not just helping a person get a job; you are transforming a generation.
