We asked the Blossom team to share what an average day looks like to them and why they have chosen to work in the charity sector. A day in the life: Usually includes planning sessions (group and 1:1’s), going out to pick clients up and completing sessions. Every Monday I text my clients asking about how they are and how there week has gone and, on a Friday, I text them letting them know when I finish and to have a good weekend. Why do you choose to work in the charity sector: I wanted to give back to children and young people who have not had the best start to life. I wanted to make a difference to their lives, even if that is the small changes, as they are the ones that make the biggest impact. If you would like to support our Blossom service or any of our other services, please like our page, share our content to spread the message. There are also fundraising and sponsorship opportunities available, if you would like more information, please contact [email protected]. #awayout #lovehopefreedom #Christmaschallenge #doubleyourdonation #matchfunding #charity #supportlocal

Hi LinkedIn Network, I've recently joined a wonderful, local charity called The Garwood Foundation as a Trustee. 🏊♀️ In the run-up to launching an appeal - they need a new hydrotherapy pool - I'd love to hear from anyone who has set up an appeal before to help me better understand any tried and tested structures and formulas. 🆘 I'll be setting up an appeal committee and I'd like to hear from anyone who has any suggestions that can help me and the charity to succeed in their appeal. For example, how did you plan? Where did you start? What did you include? How did you prioritise? What were your main learnings post-appeal? What was your winning formula? All and any ideas and suggestions welcome!! TIA 🙏 #charity #charityappeal #charityadvice #trustee

Do help if you can
Hello everyone!! 👋 Today is the final day of our charity for me&dee charity. One month after the London marathon. We have raised £4478 and got 89% of our target. 💪 In one last ditch attempt to reach our goal I wanted to post a picture of Baasit and I when we were kids, hoping that this shameless act of sentimentality would encourage a few final donations. 🙏 However, this is the only old photo I could find of us both. And no, it wasn’t taken from the Derbyshire Constabulary database. As much as I hope this picture has the desired outcome, I feel that it may result in us having to return some of the donations. 😃 Anyways…. From the bottom of our hearts, a massive thank you to everyone who donated, to everyone who shared the donation page and to everyone who sent us a message of encouragement. 🥰 We love you lots. Baasit & Raza ❤️❤️❤️ (the link will be live a for a few more days if you’d care to share or donate) https://lnkd.in/dp3khxBK

Today is #GivingTuesday and I can't think of a better time to talk once more about the 🔸10% Pledge and how grateful I am for the many charities doing amazing work around the world. Five years ago, I took this pledge, committing to donate 10% of my income to the world’s most effective charities. This small shift in my budget has had a profound impact on global challenges like poverty and health while barely affecting my lifestyle. Research shows that donating to effective charities can make your dollars go up to 100x further. If you’re inspired to make a difference this Giving Tuesday, consider taking the 🔸10% Pledge. Join me and thousands of others in creating a culture of effective giving. Even if you're not ready to pledge yet and are just curious to explore some effective charities, Giving What We Can is a great resource. Definitely worth reposting this, as I know how much work has gone into fine tuning FreeWills into the fabulous free Will writing tech solution that it is. And it's lovely to see Will writing businesses nodding their head to Remember A Charity because Lucinda Frostick and team work their socks off! As do the Institute Of Legacy Management. So glad you occasionally post Carl 😄 Thank you - for being so open (confidentially and GDP securely) with the statistically significant data set you've amassed. I do love #data and as a #legacy #trainer and #marketeer, seeing conversion and the sheer quantity of people who are writing Wills, digitally increasing at a pace...although the pipeline is long, evidence of ROI (especially with a free platform) is pretty impressive. Offering a Will writing service to your #employees is an Employee Living Gain (ELG) and can be a reportable part of your #SocialValue proposition. I'll be talking about this at Chartered Institute of Fundraising #NWConference in Chester next week. What's not to like? #IncomeGeneration #CorporatePartnerships #ELGs #GiftsinWills #Tech #SocialValue #CrossSector #Collaboration
At Quick Will / FreeWills for quite some time now we have been seeing a heart-warming trend in Will writing, with more and more people choosing to leave pledged gifts to charities. It’s a powerful reminder of how we can make a lasting impact to the causes we care about. A huge thank you to Remember A Charity for the incredible work they do behind the scenes, raising awareness and supporting the inclusion of charitable gifts in wills. Their dedication helps to ensure that charities continue to thrive and make a difference for generations to come. If you're thinking of creating or updating your Will, with us or any other reputable Will writing company, why not consider leaving a gift to a charity close to your heart? It’s a simple way to leave a legacy of kindness. 🌱 #RememberACharity #RememberACharityWeek #WillsAndCharity #LeaveALegacy #GivingBack #CharitableGifts

This week is #LonelinessAwarenessWeek so here's a little about what we do, and how you can get involved: What we do: Our Community Outreach team, mostly volunteers, support people experiencing loneliness and isolation, in their own homes and communities, until they are confident enough to access community groups and activities independently. Regular contact increases a person’s positive social contacts, reducing social isolation and contributing to better mental health. We're a charity with the person at the centre - our staff and volunteers will also identify any other needs, and can signpost to internal services, such as Money Advice, or external agencies, such as befriending services. How you can help: 1. Take a look at how easy it is to volunteer with us. Our Community Outreach team is just one area in which you can get involved with any spare time that you have. We give you all the training and support and our volunteers regularly tell us that they get out more than they give! https://lnkd.in/eifrdhhm 2. Donate to ACT - our Community Outreach team is reliant on grants and donations. You could fundraise, you could make a one-off donation or you can donate whilst you shop (at no cost to you) - take a look: https://lnkd.in/eNtz3_JX 3. Finally, click on loneliness charity Marmalade Trust's Random Acts of Connection generator and do one simple thing to combat loneliness today: https://lnkd.in/eB-FU6xT . . #LonelinessAwarenessWeek #RandomActsofConnection #combattingloneliness #lonelinessandisolation #combattingisolation #communityoutreach #volunteer #volunteeringopportunities #fundraising #donation #makingadonation #donatewhileyoushop
