#spicyMonday meets #friendshipFriday 🐄Are you holding onto a sacred cow of friendships Friendship isn’t just about 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 it’s about 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡, 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲, and 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭. In this world it’s is so hard to make friends, we actually don't know how to do it. We've lost the skill. It seems. By the way, it's 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝. Sometimes we have old friends where the 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞, and we don't 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦. We don't feel 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 when we leave spending time with them. Why are you still friends with me? 𝘞𝘦𝘭𝘭, 𝘐'𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘧𝘰𝘳 20 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴. Okay, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐦𝐲 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Why are you still friends with somebody that give you 𝐧𝐨 𝐣𝐨𝐲, give 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘯𝘰 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯? Are we staying friends with people simply because of time? Ask yourself 🔹 Do they energize me? 🔹 Do they inspire me to grow? 🔹 Do I leave our time together feeling supported and seen? If the answer is no, it’s okay to let that relationship drift. Not every friendship is meant to last forever, and that’s OK. 🔥 Spicy Truth! Letting go of friendships that no longer serve you 𝐢𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐥 -> it’s 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞. Surround yourself with people who 𝐬𝐞𝐞 your 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥, 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 your 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞, and leave you 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞. Over this past year I’ve come to shorten my 𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘪𝘳𝘤𝘭𝘦 and 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭 the 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 with those that 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 me 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞 me and tell me the 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐬 when I need to hear them, 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞! I’m looking at you Dean, Kyle, Alex, Brian, Peter, Andrew, John, Wayne, Dominic, Steve, Adam while we might not talk every day, when we do I leave feeling empowered! 20hI am going to give the worst answer possible here, an operations answer 🤣. I dont have many friends that I am mentally and emotionally capable of managing. If we talk once a quarter or more on some type of text based chat app, you're probably in the friend category 🤣 -𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘢𝘴𝘬 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 🤦 I do tend to collect talented humans though. I dont like to ask people for favors or help, but I do like to surround myself with people who are smarter, better, more talented, or different than me because I can learn by observation. I dont think I'd throw away anyone in either group 🤣...
