Good morning friends and family! Want to share a quick leadership tidbit this morning. Long post, but worth it, I promise! Plus, there is a quick ask at the end. Picture is to get your attention. The past few weeks, I have been in the weeds of our upcoming NETA conference, which is good, but tiring. I have been in need of a little extra inspiration to break out of the task to task mentality. It happened this morning! My wife asked me what I had going on at work today and when I shared the meetings I had and the emails I was already sending it suddenly hit me - my younger self would be so GIDDY! Why you wonder? Well, today I have been emailing with my good friend Susi Elkins at PBS, have meetings with Sesame Workshop, Fred Rogers Productions, and four colleagues from our public media system! George W. Davis III, Luis Patino, WPBS-TV, UEN. Plus, I get to interact all day with our amazing NETA team! How much better can it get? Connecting and working with people you respect and with organizations that literally have had an impact on my entire life! Now, I get to be part of the future with my public media colleagues and organizations to boldly build for the next generation! SO COOL! The leadership lessons I want to share: 1. Take time to get on the balcony of your work and see the bigger picture often. It is what fuels the work on the ground. 2. Be inspired by your work and SHARE it when you feel it! Let others know about your passion. 3. Truly invest in your meetings and interactions with everyone, you may just be the person or organization that they have been looking forward to meeting with to fuel their passion. 4. And last, but not least, from my friend Fred Rogers, "If you could only sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet; how important you can be to the people you may never even dream of. There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person." Now, it is your turn to share your inspiration for today! Share in the comments, what meeting or email or event that you are doing today that is fueling you. Let's inspire each other! Looking forward to meeting today!

This is really a great reminder Tim. Hope all is well and best of luck at the conference. The NETA conference was the first professional conference I was able to go to when I worked in public media. I got the Ottinger Scholarship from you guys and that year it was supposed to be in Tampa but I couldn't fly out of Columbia because it was during the floods of 2015. You guys honered my scholarship the next year in Baltimore and it was one of the best experiences of my career and really energized me made me understand the importance of what our work in public media means and how important it is. It changed my career in public media and my life. Keep up the great work my friend and let's catch up soon.

Love this! Today I was reminded how valuable it is to sit down with learners and leaders like Jewel that are providing opportunities like Lyla in the Loop on IMAX and fine motors skills activities at educational engagements across NC!

Merci Monsieur Eernisse! What did inspire me recently? My call with Tim Fallon yesterday and what we discussed about PBS39 projects. Tim Fallon was one of the very first FRANCE 24 broadcasters in the US: Providing a reliable and balanced information is crucial for both of us. What did inspire me this month? American fans enthusiasm during the Olympics! Guys you were amazing, in stadiums ... and in Paris!
