Rear Admiral Iqbal Singh Grewal, Assistant Directorate General of Quality Assurance (ADGQA-WP) - Directorate General of Quality Assurance ( DGQA ), visited TIDCO for a focused discussion on advancements under the Defence Testing Infrastructure Scheme (DTIS) #DTIS. Launched by the Ministry of Defence in May 2020, DTIS aims to establish 6–8 Greenfield Defence Testing Infrastructure facilities across India. Tamil Nadu is at the forefront, with TIDCO driving key DTIS projects: 1. Laboratory for Electro-Optical Navigation System Foundation (LENS) 2. Electronic Warfare (Defence) Testing Foundation 3. Association of Drone Avionics Research and Testing (ADART) 4. Systems Testing and Research for Advanced Materials Foundation (STREAM) The team also visited Centers of Excellence (CoEs)—TANSAM, TANCAM, and TAMCOE—showcasing their role in advancing cutting-edge research and testing capabilities. Aligned to enhance domestic defence and aerospace manufacturing, these efforts reflect Tamil Nadu’s commitment to establishing itself as a critical hub for innovation and excellence in the sector.
