5G SA: Slow Start, Bright Future – Insights from Ericsson and GSA Reports The Ericsson November 2024 Mobility Report highlights the slow but critical development of 5G SA networks. While it predicts a rise in connections from 890 million in 2023 to 3.6 billion by 2030, deployments remain slow, with only 12 new launches in 2023. Yet, features like network slicing, security, and edge computing make 5G SA essential for realizing the full potential of 5G. The Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) market is a bright spot, with connections projected to grow to 350 million by 2030, driven largely by 5G adoption, especially in countries with poor fiber to the home deployments. The GSA report on 5G SA reinforces these findings, emphasizing the transformative potential of programmable, virtualized infrastructure for advanced services like ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC). Both reports note regional differences: Asia-Pacific led early 5G SA deployments, EMEA is now catching up, and the Americas are advancing more cautiously. Service differentiation, particularly through private networks and premium offerings like FWA, emerges as a key revenue driver. Conclusion: The Role of Infrastructural Security As the industry moves forward, infrastructural security will play a pivotal role in realizing the potential of 5G SA. Ensuring robust, secure, and GPS-independent time synchronization will be crucial for deploying reliable, high-performance services across diverse use cases and geographies. The success of 5G SA hinges on building futureproof networks that balance innovation with security and resilience. #5GSA #FutureConnectivity #DigitalInnovation #NetworkSlicing #FixedWirelessAccess #TelecomTrends #SecureInfrastructure https://lnkd.in/dK5XamUc

Acquisition and consolidation, along with monetization, are pivotal steps in driving profitability within the telecom sector. Implementing "network sharing/neutral host" among TSPs is critical step for achieving goal, optimizing resources & enhancing service delivery. This new emerging business model enables cost-effective services. With negative returns on #5G increment investment vs incremental revenue, the only option left to make it positive is by sharing end to end infrastructure. Note -> Neutral Host optimizes digital infrastructure costs, leads to reducing cost per GB. In #Australia, operators TPG Telecom and #Optus are using MOCN-based network sharing to efficiently utilize resources and decrease operational expenses. "The outcome has been so promising that this trend is gaining traction globally" Image - Network Sharing Approaches for Multiple Operators. In simple terms, "Network sharing approaches for multiple operators involve collaborative usage of infrastructure to reduce costs, improve coverage, and enhance service quality. This is essential for telecom providers to efficiently utilize resources, decrease operational expenses, and accelerate technology deployment, driving significant industry investments." - - - Option's summury => >> #MORAN (Multiple Operator #Radio Access Network) =>sharing RAN infrastructure (i.e., BTS, Node, Antenna, Tower) along with Backhaul for multiple operators, while maintaining separate core networks and above. # Benefit => Coverage & capacity are enhanced without deploying additional infrastructure, resulting in significant #OPEX and #CAPEX savings. - - - - >> #MOCN (Multiple Operator Core Network) => sharing Frequency/Spectrum and RAN infrastructure along with Backhaul between multiple operators, while maintaining separate #core networks. # Benefit => Optimized utilization & improved spectrum efficiency is observed across operators. This option can fast-track network deployment. - - - - >> #GWCN (Gateway Core Network) => sharing #Frequency / #Spectrum, #RAN infrastructure, and #core network elements among multiple operators. However, northbound elements are unique and non-shareable. # Benefit => With a shared core, data throughput and latency are improved by big margin. Additionally, fewer core nodes need monitoring (due to sharing), leading to cost savings. Follow me for more updates on #Telecom #AI #Automation Like .. Comment.. Hey connections...! Title: Lighting the Way: Li-Fi Technology Leading the Charge in Connectivity In our ever-evolving tech world, Li-Fi emerges as a game-changer, set to revolutionize how we connect. Unlike traditional Wi-Fi, which relies on radio waves, Li-Fi taps into light waves to transmit data, offering lightning-fast speeds and enhanced security. At its heart, Li-Fi harnesses the power of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to transmit data at incredible speeds, potentially up to 100 times faster than Wi-Fi. This not only speeds up data transfer but also boosts network efficiency, perfect for places like hospitals, factories, and bustling urban areas where connectivity is crucial. Moreover, Li-Fi brings built-in security benefits by using light waves that don't penetrate walls like radio waves, reducing the risk of interception. This makes Li-Fi appealing to industries prioritizing data privacy and security. As we journey through an increasingly connected world, Li-Fi technology lights the way forward, promising improved connectivity, efficiency, and security. Embracing Li-Fi marks a new era in communication, where the speed of light becomes synonymous with progress. Let's illuminate the future together with Li-Fi technology. #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinkers #desingthinking
