The power of intra-team 'peer review' sessions: Before submitting, I conduct an internal 'peer review' of the proposal within the team. This not only strengthens the proposal but also helps team members see their roles more clearly. Plan this session before you start writing so that everybody in the team is ready. I typically plan this session about 3 weeks before the application due date.

From this week’s team discussions: The term "drop-in," which I often hear, doesn’t fully capture the nature of these types of tasks. Let’s use more precise categories to describe them. 1) Incidents — tasks related to fixing an error. 2) Unplanned tasks — work that wasn’t part of the initial plan but is necessary to achieve the company’s strategic goals. 3) Urgent tasks — tasks that require a shift in priorities due to their high importance or urgency. 4) Operations issues — tasks caused by ongoing problems or changes in business processes. To reduce the negative perception of such tasks, let’s adopt terms that sound more neutral and constructive: - Operational request - Ad hoc - Priority adjustment Using the right terminology will help us shift how we view these tasks and build a more positive attitude toward handling them.

Some basic things that may help to bring everyone on a common platform - Set up clear expectations and a shared goal with everyone. Do periodic team review keeping focus on the common goal. Use of a shared common dashboard for updates Listen to suggestions constructively and address concerns in a positive way. Brainstorm, share experience, outcomes and develop strategy by listening and incorporating the valuable suggestions from the team members.

Thoughtful pairing between team members to allow for cross-training / pair-coding approaches: there's generally a few ways to get something done, and we all bring out own experiences and biases to any task. Mix it up every so often. Maybe relate it to a prior PDP. Have everyone circle back to debrief.

If your team uses a spike every time they come across any level of uncertainty; they're probably using too many spikes. A spike isn't supposed to be used every time that your team doesn't know something or has small levels of uncertainty. They should be used in cases of extreme uncertainty. How to properly convey the goal to the team? Through a general strategy session with the top team👈 And the most important task of this meeting is to synchronize the team And for this task, different ways of communicating are carried out, but the essence is the same - to spend time as much as possible and involve employees in this strategy🤩 And this is how the ideal combination of the owner and the director should work 🔗 When the owner has written a business strategy, he passes this strategy to the director so that he can prepare a detailed program of tasks for the year 🧮 And when this program is approved by the owner and agreed upon by all participants, the director and the owner are regularly coordinated. The owner checks whether they are moving in that direction or not. Whether at the right pace. And a very important point that the owner checks is how clear the strategy that he wrote is 😑 So that there are no misunderstandings

Engage your team always on projects. Met with them often and ask, what if. Prepare for the unexpected. Talk about `what if` situations and how your team should handle it. Eventually a hiperthetical will become a deal situation.
