Uranium miners in the United States produced more than 82,000 pounds of uranium concentrate in the first quarter of 2024, more than in all of 2023. Domestic uranium mines produced 50,000 pounds of triuranium octoxide (U3O8), also called uranium concentrate, in 2023, a significant decrease from the 194,000 pounds produced in 2022. Production declined in 2023 because the United States’ only operating conventional uranium mill, the White Mesa Mill in Utah, did not produce. During 2023, uranium concentrate production occurred at five in-situ recovery facilities, four in Nebraska and one in Wyoming. https://lnkd.in/gPx9UDwf

The West Australian | Sean Smith | CCI sees WA uranium ban costing $1 billion in exports and 9000 jobs WA’s peak industry group claims the State will lose out on $1 billion of export income unless it lifts a ban on new uranium mines. With the Federal Coalition renewing a push for nuclear energy in Australia, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry is calling on the State Government to reassess its uranium ban, saying the WA mining industry has shown it can any handle any of the associated environmental, health and safety concerns. An analysis and policy paper by the CCI to be released on Saturday estimates uranium mining in WA could generate $1b in annual exports and create as many as 9000 direct and indirect jobs. Haranga Resources Ltd Identifies Significant Uranium Anomalies at Sanela Prospect (ASX: HAR) Managing Director Peter Batten said: “It is reassuring to see the progress we are making in Senegal with our exploration process. We recently announced the completion of regional termite mound sampling (TMS) and the definition of an additional seven infill grids bringing that total to fifteen, not including the uranium deposit at Saraya. We have completed the infill at eight of these grids resulting in 11 new auger targets, eight of which have never seen a drillhole. From three of the fifteen partially explored TMS anomalies we have the Sanela prospect delivering auger anomalies and RC uranium intersects over a 2 kilometre strike length.” Read our article below: https://lnkd.in/gaF25S2C #uranium #mining #resources #stocks #har #asx

#Sweden, the example to follow in the development of a new fleet of #NuclearReactors!!! The Nordic Nation is working in the foundation for a succesfull #NuclearProgram, not only including the construction of #NewNuclearPowerPlants, but covering other aspects of the supply chain such as #UraniumMining... To achieve it #Swedish Government is working on defining a long term #EnergyPolicy, a commercial model for risk sharing, a new #NuclearPowerProgram eliminating some of the existing bans (new reactors, uranium mining...) and no less important, more efficient permitting processes... #Sweden has perfectly understand the actual #EnergyMarket momentum and is working to attract #NuclearOEMs, #Investors... We might not forget that actually there are more projects than suppliers can handle... In this context suppliers and investors assess which countries have the greatest potential and prioritize accordingly to the conclusions!!!

The landscape of the global uranium market was dominated by a few key players responsible for the majority of uranium production worldwide. These companies operate mines across various countries, including Kazakhstan, Canada, Australia, and others. The largest uranium producers have been: 1. Kazatomprom (Kazakhstan): The national operator of Kazakhstan for import and export of uranium, rare metals, and nuclear fuel for nuclear power plants. Kazatomprom is the world's largest producer of uranium, with the country itself being the top uranium producing country globally. 2. Cameco (Canada): One of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel, Cameco has significant operations in Canada, particularly in the Athabasca Basin of Northern Saskatchewan, which is known for having some of the highest-grade uranium deposits worldwide. 3, Orano (France): Formerly known as Areva, this company is a multinational that operates in various segments of the nuclear fuel cycle, including uranium mining. Orano has mining operations in several countries, including Kazakhstan and Niger. 4. Uranium One (Russia): A subsidiary of Russia's state nuclear company, Rosatom, Uranium One is a global uranium producer with operations in several countries, including Kazakhstan and the United States. 5. China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) & China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN) (China): These state-owned enterprises play significant roles in China's nuclear energy industry, including uranium mining both domestically and abroad. 6. Navoi Mining & Metallurgy Combinat (Uzbekistan): It operates the largest open-pit mine in the world and is one of the top uranium producers globally, contributing significantly to Uzbekistan's uranium output. 7. Energy Resources of Australia (ERA) (Australia): A subsidiary of Rio Tinto, one of the world's largest mining companies, ERA operates the Ranger Uranium Mine in Australia, although its production has been decreasing in recent years due to the mine's planned closure and rehabilitation. 8. BHP Billiton (Australia/United Kingdom): Although primarily a diversified mining company, BHP Billiton operates the Olympic Dam mine in South Australia, one of the largest deposits of uranium in the world. The production figures and rankings of these companies can fluctuate based on a variety of factors, including changes in market demand, regulatory environments, and operational challenges.
