Social services can be more effective and efficient by adopting a human-centered design approach. Currently, "experts" often believe they know what is best for disadvantaged individuals and victims/survivors of abuse and violence. However, this approach can be ineffective, dangerous and even traumatizing. It's time to challenge this practice and shift the focus towards a more humane, impactful, effective and efficient approach. Let's prioritize the needs and experiences of those we aim to serve. By doing so, we can ensure greater uptake of services and ultimately make a real difference in people's lives. #humancentereddesign #socialservices #impactfulchange

Health equity is unattainable where sexual violence robs children of their dignity, rights, potential and future. That’s why at No Means No Worldwide we work with partners globally to change social norms so that young people have the power to protect themselves and others from rape and sexual assault; and local NGOs are equipped to coordinate referral pathways that deliver psychosocial, medical and legal support to victims and their families. Evidence-based primary prevention interventions, like the No Means No program, advance health equity especially when the most vulnerable are prioritised.
