Thank you Lila Ibrahim for sharing your thoughtful perspective on AI with us at Zeitgeist. If you are interested in how AI can be used to solve big challenges please check out this panel below.
AI is a transformational technology that requires exceptional care. Every day at Google DeepMind, my priority is to operationalize the responsible advancement of frontier technology. At this year’s #GoogleZeitgeist, I had the opportunity to talk about this work alongside my colleague James Manyika and fellow panelists Anima Anandkumar and Van Jones. As I shared with the panel, my goal is to connect with communities & potential collaborators, welcoming outside voices early in the development process. One main challenge of this work is building an internal governance structure that internal folks (in my case, AI researchers) see as a real benefit, not just bureaucracy. That’s why it’s essential to build a constructive culture that supports gathering & incorporating feedback. Throughout my career, I’ve often played the role of an outsider, bringing a new & different perspective on emerging technologies; in the early days it was computing & the Internet, and now it’s #ArtificialIntelligence. As always, the key to building trust is to bring stakeholders — both internal and external — into conversations as early & often as possible. I’m always grateful for the opportunity to highlight this work – especially when I have the chance to discuss it with experts & hear what approach they’re taking in their fields. Interesting topic for SXSW. Vote with me!
Whether you're a groundbreaking startup or a time-honored legacy, organizations worldwide are zeroing in on the most valuable asset AI will transform: their people. I’m thrilled to discuss the profound implications of the #AI race and share how ServiceNow is leading the charge to not only safeguard human potential, but elevate their experiences and opportunities, across industries and borders, with my esteemed colleagues Spencer Beemiller of ServiceNow and • Thom Singer, CSP 🌟 of the Austin Technology Council at this year's SXSW! As SXSW empowers the community to shape its panels, we’re humbled and hungry for your support in bringing this critical dialogue on the future of work and digital transformation to the main stage. Please consider voting by August 18th to make this vision a reality! #PUTAITOWORKFORPEOPLE #SXSW https://lnkd.in/g3n9cMXC

I'm guilty as charged in a recent Linkedin article. I have more exposure to machine learning than generative AI but my challenge is similar. Machine Learning, like other forms of AI, is a tool and not to trust blindly to its outcomes. My invitation to users of all types is to stay curious. If you want to know more about AI, Richard Foster-Fletcher 🌎is a great source of knowledge and contacts. I have Richard to thank for my deeper understanding of ethics and bias in AI and how to use it as a tool rather than trusting to it as a solution. #AI #ethics #codingbias

There’s been a growing trend where people emphasise that their work isn’t AI-generated, almost like a point of pride. But what’s driving this sentiment, and what might it say about how we view AI’s role in creative and professional work? #GenerativeAI #AIinBusiness #FutureOfWork #AIIntegration

You're constantly tagging, responding, and moderating, but where's the time to build that ✨ sense of belonging ✨? Here's a bold idea: What if #AI could free up your time from the technical nitty-gritty, giving you back time to invest in your #community? That's why we're bringing in Derek Andersen (Bevy CEO & Co-Founder) and Ezra Mitchell (Mindvalley's Community Operations Manager) for a FREE webinar on May 29th, 10 am PST to explore: 1️⃣ How AI can supercharge engagement and streamline operations. 2️⃣ The good, the bad, and the real of AI-powered communities. 3️⃣ Real-world examples to inspire your next community move. 🎫RSVP here: https://bit.ly/3V7N3qU

Worn Many (Mad) Hats
4dMy lightbulb moment? Oh! I have a video of my literal lightbulb moment on YouTube. It was when I was 12 years old, and got my shoddy tesla coil to work (kinda) for the first time. I couldn't make it spark, but I made a fluorescent bulb glow, a la Wardenclyffe. I was born with a bulb over my head. Too many ideas, not enough bandwidth to output. But this, this was really a moment that defined me. It would take that moment to make me realize, I was no ordinary middle schooler. I was a mad scientist. It would take another 15ish years for the "mad" part to develop ripely though [maniacal laughter]
