Argentina proudly took center stage at the inaugural Expo Agritech 2024 in Spain! Spain has successfully launched a new event for agritech innovation with the first edition of Expo Agritech 2024. This event, organized by the Spanish government and ICEX, served as a meeting point for over 8.000 attendees to explore the latest technological advancements in agriculture. Argentina positioned itself as the guest of honor at Expo Agritech 2024, demonstrating its global leadership in agricultural innovation. With the backing of the Argentine Foreign Ministry, a delegation of producers, SMEs, startups and investors, traveled to Spain to showcase the diversity and potential of the Argentine agricultural sector. On this occasion, it was our partner Teresita Di Marco who represented our team at the expo, taking part in one of the panels called "Meeting with international investors. Unlocking investment opportunities in Spain". This panel provided an invaluable opportunity to present our investment thesis, how we work, and what is important for us when looking for investment opportunities. By participating in such events, we strive to bridge geographical gaps and bring Latin American talent to the forefront of the global agritech stage.

📣 One week left to apply to the third round of Biosphere, our University of Helsinki 6-month incubator programme for impactful solutions in #BioEconomy & #CircularEconomy! 🌱 What better excuse for us to re-share this story of Surendra Pradhan, a researcher at the university's Department of Agricultural Sciences, who participated in the very first installation of Biosphere with his nutrient harvesting solution! 🌱 Surendra wanted to do something about the growing amounts of toxic sludge flowing into nature from industrial sites all around the world, and saw an opportunity: what if we could efficiently extract valuable nutrients from the waste, and transform them into fertiliser that could be used in agriculture and food production? With the help of his research team, he has done exactly that, and now wants to make his method available to everyone through an entrepreneurial venture. 🤲 Surendra believes that making a large-scale impact in the world requires engaging in entrepreneurship: "Circularity is a good and necessary thing, and everybody is talking about its importance. But it’s not going to happen on a systemic level until we have businesses and business ideas around it,” he says emphatically. 👇 Read more about Surendra's experience through the link in the comments, and be sure to follow his footsteps: apply to Biosphere 3 by 1 May! 🚀 New #foodtech #impact portfolio company & investment - meet Seaqure labs 😮 Problem Overfishing which is turned into fishmeal for feed 😎 Solution Creating protein made from mycoprotein, or fungi, done with a unique fermentation technique 😃 Potential Huge impact for reducing waste. The global fish feed market is worth $60 billion - aquaculture is the world’s fastest-growing food industry, as the global population increases. Chalmers Ventures has been following Seaqure Labs' development since their time at Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship. The company is well-positioned, with the potential to become a global impact company. - The way we feed our animals today is unsustainable. We need to transform our food production. Just take fishing in the Baltic Sea as an example. 92 percent of all herring caught in the Baltic Sea goes to fish feed, says Johan Henriksson, CEO and co-founder of the company. - They have found a great application for fish feed, and now the process of truly commercializing this begins, says Oskar Svarfvar, Seed Investment Manager at Chalmers Ventures. Seaqure labs have moved into Sahlgrenska Science Park's new Life Science hub and have joined the MassChallenge Switzerland accelerator in Switzerland Team Johan Henriksson Albin Frick Sajjad Karimi - University of Borås Mohsen Parchami - Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) #impactinvestment #chalmers #chalmersventures #foodtech Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship Chalmers Innovation Office Chalmers University of Technology Full PR in comment
