My first visionary drove me a bit crazy! But upon further reflection I discovered that it was mostly my fault. Early in my career, I worked with a Visionary whose speaking and leadership skills inspired me (𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬?). However, my emotional immaturity and inexperience led to misunderstandings and eventually, bitterness & resentment. I had to overcome this, and later I apologized to him, especially because he wasn’t even aware that he was doing things that bugged me, because I never appropriately challenged him on it. Over the course of 16 years, I’ve learned the importance of 𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 and 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 rather than harboring judgments. Looking back, I see that much of the responsibility was actually mine. Now, I focus on being curious, not critical. I break down this and other lessons in my 3-month Unity Rock Coaching program for Visionaries and Integrators 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 13. Implementers are welcome too! Month 1 is 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 so send in your application and my team will provide you with the details: https://lnkd.in/ewBm73J9 #eos #eoslife #eosintegrator #theunityguide #entrepreneur #coaching #unityiseverything #leadershipdevelopment #intention #eosimplementer #visionary #integrator #boundaries #unityrock

6moWhoa I relate to this. I’ve gone back to former employers and had to pay a little respect and apologize! Until I was the guy accountable for making payroll I just didn’t understand. I did the same thing to parents I met before I had kids! LOL. I remember saying later on, “I thought you were so stupid and weird talking about your children all the time…now I get it!”
