I was offered a "LinkedIn Growth" service this week. Here is how it works... A company will use a click farm to amplify your posts. They have more than 3,000 bot profiles to amplify your posts. They will like, comment and repost. That triggers the algorithm and real people start to engage. They offered me a minimum of 50k impressions per post and an average of 5,000 new followers per week. To make it work, I had to broaden my message so it was more relatable to a wider audience and pay $1497 a month. They shared they do this for some well known names. Do I want 5,000 followers per week? - Yep Do I want 50,000 average impressions? - Yep Do I want to broaden my message? - Nope Would I be 100% terrified of being banned or caught out - Yep Makes you ponder how much of the internet is artificial hype. This is what a click farm looks like. UPDATE: Thanks for all the support on this post. A few of you have said name and shame. I'm not comfortable doing that right now - it isn't a crime at least in the UK and there are legal issues with stuff like this. When I have done things like this in the past I've always hidden identities.
Surely LinkedIn can sort this BS out?
Call them out, or DM me and I'll call them out Dean Seddon. This crapfest needs to end, and the only way it will is if these people are identified for what they're doing.
What in the world, we are slowly but surely moving towards the "Dead Internet" theory.
Dean Seddon I remember having a similar realisation when I realised that 90% of the "news" and other content we read online is just paid placements for linkbuilding
You can buy followers, listeners, subscribers, etc. it’s unreal. At JAR Audio we always tell our podcast clients we don’t buy listeners. Yes, you can also buy podcast downloads and listens. Building a real audience should always be the goal! Because a fake audience won’t buy your products or engage with your content honestly. Bots ultimately won’t give you a real audience.
Same with YouTube, you can buy followers and views easily. Nothing is what it seems
Dean Seddon - makes you wonder who you are actually connecting with - are you real Dean? 😂
I think it’s quite obvious who does this unfortunately Dean Seddon, it’s just a shame when they sell LinkedIn training and courses when this is how they use this platform
I've blocked bots that just repost to a country or market im not interested in. Fake profiles = block 🚫 Genuine relationship building a must.
