Today, at Microsoft Ignite in Chicago, MSFT CEO Satya Nadella was thrilled to announce the new name - Azure Local and in exchange of Azure Stack HCI.  At Lenovo we have prepared for this announcement, we are excited to see the message shared early at the event as it now makes even more sense for everyone what it's all about - locality and still with Azure datacenter services. Azure Local brings Azure services everywhere, even at the far Edge where Cloud connectivity can be challenging, in particular when combining AI applications with Cloud native services. Lenovo has a richer Azure Local portfolio than ever before, now including MX650 Premier as well, yet another powerful node type from Lenovo to support Microsoft Azure Local with Premier experience.  Azure Local by Lenovo still includes MX Integrated System (IS) as an option, and these IS are ready to support WS2025 as well. The portfolio counts +20 different node types, this even not taking our Azure Edge devices into account. We introduced AKS Edge Essential for lightweight AI workload on our ThinkEdge node SE30 and SE50, this more than 2 years ago. Soon Azure Linux for AKS services (previously known as CBL-Mariner) will see the light as well on our Edge portfolio, just watch out. Day Thirty/30: Cloud, Edge, and 5G As I wrap up the final day of my 30-day challenge, I would like to reflect on the transformative power of 5G and edge computing. 5G, the fifth generation of mobile networks, is not just about speed, but about capacity and latency. It's a transport mechanism that enhances the capabilities of cloud and edge computing. Edge computing, on the other hand, is a method to meet the performance and low latency requirements of 5G networks. It leverages the computational capacity of edge devices to enhance customer experience and enables businesses to virtualise the cloud beyond the data center. Together, edge computing and 5G are creating opportunities for new products, platforms, and experiences across industries. They enable better data control, faster insights, and continuous operations. In closing, as we continue to embrace these advancements, it's important to remember that your smartphone is (usually) not an edge device, and mobile edge computing is not the same as edge computing.
