A 2023 survey found that 69% of women business owners are between the ages of 44 and 59, with 68.9% being Gen Xers. Another powerful stat is that "According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, women over 55 are the fastest growing age and gender workforce category" - MSNBC. As a woman over fifty, this is so inspiring, and I have been following all the extraordinary work being done to shatter old narratives and ways of thinking. We are living longer, healthier lives, and it's exciting to be part of this changing landscape. Most of my clients are 40+, and I'm right there with them in their excitement about starting a new business. I'm launching a program exclusively for women who are transitioning from corporate to starting their own businesses and need to build their personal brands. This is not just another generic offering but a tailored solution designed to address the unique needs and challenges professional women face when reinventing their careers and transforming their brands. "It's still not an equitable journey for women today" Came across this article this morning and think it's a super important read! In the article, Bumble CEO Lidiane Jones shares her experiences as a female CEO in working in tech, and highlights some of the struggles she faced. The article reveals Lidiane's personal experiences working within the industry, and how much of a struggle it can be to be the only woman in the room. Despite this, she encourages women to not "self-doubt" and to instead push through the obstacles and break boundaries. My biggest takeaway from the article was the importance of self belief and resilience for us as women. Although it can often feel like an uphill battle being a woman in the corporate world, we as women hold so much value. It's SO important that we continue to break into those male dominated rooms and keep pushing for change!
