What do you see? Spot anything odd? 👀 Yes it’s a classroom construction for a community-leadership event, but why have a complicated gable roof? It is after all a classroom housed in a large warehouse. ⁉️ You need to dig deeper. This day involving Bosch executives with ESMT Berlin was supporting a charity which helps refuges, many who have experienced horrific journeys or might have travelled in a container. The shape of spaces they occupy is therefore important. My admiration goes to the charity Schlesische 27 in Berlin who think so carefully about refuges and details like this, and to Bosch and ESMT for running such a worthwhile event which Splash Projects could fascilitate. Oh and the other pictures? Those are of the Bosch team building furniture to go into the classroom. #givingback #bosch 😊😊😊

It's that time of the year again. Myself and a few brave colleagues will be cycling our way through Europe in aid of our charity partner It's Your Life. About it's your life: "It's Your Life" is not just a charity; it's a beacon of hope within communities. They work tirelessly to break the cycle of deprivation by providing essential support systems. Your donations make a tangible impact on the lives of those they serve. Here's how far your contributions can go: £2000 would provide a ‘new to English’ teacher for 20 sessions, helping individuals overcome language barriers and integrate into their new communities. £150 will provide 3 sessions for our community music project, offering individuals the opportunity to express themselves creatively and build social connections. £40 will provide 1:1 employment advice sessions for those furthest away from the workplace, ensuring they receive personalized support tailored to their needs, regardless of access to technology. £30 will support our garden to plate project, empowering individuals to learn valuable skills in gardening and cooking, promoting healthy lifestyles and self-sufficiency. £20 will support the buying of materials for our Sew Talented women’s textiles group, providing a space for creativity and skill-building while fostering a sense of community and belonging. Any donations greatly appreciated.

Achieving goals is not a simple linear progression, and success doesn't always look the way you expect it to. When Kaleido Arts' crowdfunder campaign closed on the 19th August with £2,418, I was surprised by the celebratory emails Crowdfunder were sending out, given that our goal was £18k! Of course, it was not an all or nothing campaign (I've done that before with a book crowdfunder and those are nerve wracking) and we were able to take home anything donated. One thing I've learnt is the importance of reframing missed goals as opportunities and small successes: 1. We've increased our visibility as an organisation. 2. The fact that 37 people have supported us in this way is an indication that people recognise the value of what we're doing. 3. Although we're not in a position to hire the Quaker Meeting House yet, they are still open to us moving in at a later stage. 4. We have discovered an alternative venue - The Gardener's Rest in Neepsend - and are running our autumn workshops there for free! Those guys have given us such favour and I can't wait to work with them.

Mandela Day (July 18th) is around the corner, and it’s the perfect time to inspire your team while making a difference in the community. Doing a good deed as an organisation has a powerful effect on the way a team sees itself and can be a powerful transformative experience. The Charity Construction Team Build is a unique group challenge where your team works together to construct bikes or wheelchairs that will be donated to a charity of your choice. How this helps unify & inspire your team: 1. Teamwork and Collaboration: Foster unity as your team works together to assemble bikes or wheelchairs. 2. Creativity and Innovation: Encourage creative problem-solving and innovative thinking. 3. Corporate Social Responsibility: Fulfill your CSR goals by donating the completed bikes and wheelchairs to those in need. 4. Boost Morale and Engagement: Inspire your team with a fulfilling and meaningful activity. 5. Fun and Memorable: Enjoy a fun and engaging experience that creates lasting memories. 🚗💡 Understanding stopping distances During Road Safety Week, it's crucial to understand the importance of stopping distances. This knowledge can make a real difference on our roads. Thinking Distance: This is the distance your vehicle travels from the moment you spot a hazard until you start to brake. Braking Distance: This is the distance your vehicle travels from the moment you apply the brakes until it comes to a complete stop. At Athlon, we are proud to partner with Brake, the road safety charity in their mission to educate and protect road users. 🛑🚦Read our article to find out how well you understand stopping distances: https://lnkd.in/eQ7aJE_J #RoadSafetyWeek #SafeDriving #RoadSafety #StoppingDistance

🌟 For UK companies only: ❓ We would love your feedback please to help us grow in the right direction and not waste time on a project companies may or may not be interested in?? We’re proud to be inclusive and 🚶🏽♀️non-competitive🚶🏽♀️ at trundl. Our walking app supports charities, tracks your CO2 savings, and welcomes everyone in your business who wants to, to join in with no fundraising required. BUT, Here's the rub.... and this is where your feedback comes in: We also know that a bit of gentle competition, if done right, can be fun and inspiring and remain inclusive. And will achieve our aim of everyone easily doing a lot more social & environmental good. So, if there was a trundl trophy 🏆 and an impact challenge that was about teams rather than individuals, for your business which of the below would float your boat please, no right or wrong answer by the way either? a) No, we are happy to turn our daily walks into charity donations and CO2 savings with everyday walks and do not particularly need an impact challenge. b) Yes, a bit of fun never goes amiss and an impact challenge would be good. c) We would love to have our supply chain join in, to help them become more aware of sustainability and social responsibility. It helps us with our goals to achieve net zero. d) We would love a bit of impactful competition between our fellow business community i.e.: #lawyers v #lawyers #architects v #architects #construction v #construction #accountants v #accountants #financial v #financial #logistics v #logisitcs If we get the need right from your perspective folks, we can all help do more charity fundraising and do even more social good. A,B,C,D or a mixture? Thank you! Have a fab weekend. Hil

🌳 Green spaces matter. 🌳 We’ve been working with Windlesham Field of Remembrance to keep the field well-funded. Creating a distinctive visual theme to help visitors appreciate the running costs and encourage donations to the Friend of the Field scheme. With a graphic mark to emphasise the multi-functional uses of the field for both recreation and respite, a considered colour palette to compliment the surroundings and location specific messaging to draw attention. A donation is now just a click away while enjoying the field. We’ve loved working on this project. Let us know what you think with a reaction. 🙏 Thank you to Sophie Holt, for her kind words: "Liven Creative has re-energised the Friend of the Field scheme. We're already starting to see the benefit of their clarity and skill to bring our fundraising initiative to life. We appreciate their support and contribution to keeping our fields available for future generations." If you’re looking to make an impact, a fresh look design could be the answer. Get in touch for a no-obligation chat about the challenge you’re facing and we’ll help you solve it. #design #messaging #impact #branddesign #fundraising
