#Biological solutions are one of the pathways that could contribute to reducing the use of chemicals and synthetic fertilizers in agri-food systems. Nevertheless, there are many technical and commercial complexities involved in upscaling these solutions. Our work systematizes the strategies that large incumbent firms in the #aginput sector are following to incorporate biologicals in their portfolios. We explore the strategic drivers behind these decisions and study the main technical and commercial challenges of introducing #biologicals on a large scale.
