I am holding myself accountable for sharing at least two posts on LinkedIn (thanks for the inspiration, Kendall Cherry), and through a creative ideation session I hosted for myself last week, I discovered some incredible insight into what lights me up most about my work. Thought leadership is more than the identity you've claimed through your career. Your conscious thought leadership and story are a collection of past experiences that led you to self-discovery. This collection of experiences is your human-centric story. Your human-centric story starts with the courage to break free from conforming to other versions of thought leadership to embrace your true identity. Thought leadership is not just a professional label—it's a personal journey of self-discovery. The thought leadership space can quickly push us towards following what has worked for others, but choosing authenticity is a powerful act. Being unapologetically you is the key to genuine connection and lasting impact, whether in your career, personal brand, or relationships. This is the power of thought leadership. At The Conscious Publicist®, we don't just believe in celebrating what makes you unique—we champion it. Our PR and thought leadership approach is not a one-size-fits-all but a tailored strategy centered around you—your voice, values, and vision. We see you, understand you, and are here to help you make your mark. ———————————————————————————————————— Hi! I'm Ashley Graham, Founder, Publicist, and Visionary of The Conscious Publicist®. Want to be the go-to expert in your field? "It is important for me to begin to become a recognizable brand." A leadership consultant told me this recently, and I bet it resonates with many of you. But what does "becoming a recognizable brand" actually look like? Well, that’s up to you to decide! Becoming a recognizable brand isn't about being everywhere. It's about being strategic and consistently visible in the right places. For some experts, that might mean: 💎 Regularly contributing thought leadership pieces to well-known industry publications 💎 Securing paid speaking gigs at high-profile conferences 💎 Building a strong, engaged LinkedIn presence 💎 Landing podcast interviews to share your expertise 💎 Getting featured in relevant press outlets whether that’s TV, print, or elsewhere online Each of these takes strategic, focused effort… so where exactly do you start? It can be simpler than you think: Go where your people are. Identify where YOUR ideal clients are paying attention and show up there consistently with valuable insights. But let’s first uncover what stops you from showing up: ❓ “I’m not sure where my people are” ❓ “My messaging doesn’t clearly set us apart” ❓ “We don’t have a real marketing strategy” (random posting just doesn't cut it) ❓ “I don’t know where to start with pitching outside of my network” ⁉️ Overwhelm from all of the above Whew… I know, I know. You might be nodding along to more than one of these. But with the right strategy, systems, and support, it’s possible for you to cut through the noise and build a recognizable brand that attracts premium clients. This journey looks like crafting your unique story, developing a content strategy that works for you, pitching meaningfully, and securing those high-visibility opportunities that put you on the map. Want to become the go-to authority in your niche? Let's chat about making your brand impossible to ignore. Five Ways to Build a Personal Brand Through Media Exposure 🎥✨ Building a strong personal brand doesn’t happen overnight—it requires strategy, consistency, and, most importantly, visibility. Media exposure can significantly boost your reputation and establish you as a thought leader. Here are five actionable ways to get started: 🎤 Leverage Podcasts and Webinars: Being a guest on industry-relevant podcasts or webinars positions you as an expert in your field. It’s a great way to share your insights with new audiences. 📝 Publish Opinion Pieces and Interviews: Contributing to reputable publications helps you share your voice and knowledge with a larger community, driving credibility and recognition. 📺 Leverage Regional TV Stations: Securing interviews on regional TV stations helps you build credibility and connect with local audiences. TV interviews position you as an authority in your field and provide high-quality content that can be repurposed for social media, websites, or further PR efforts. Regional TV appearances also make it easier to scale to larger, national outlets. 📚 Create and Share Engaging Content: Share behind-the-scenes moments, insights, and authentic stories from your journey. Consistent, value-driven content builds authority and fosters trust with your audience. 🎤 Seek Out Speaking Engagements: Use your media exposure to land speaking engagements at conferences, industry events, and webinars. Public speaking helps you reach new audiences, builds trust, and enhances your credibility as a thought leader. Each speaking opportunity can lead to more media interviews and collaborations. 💡 Pro Tip: Start small and local, then gradually build your media presence. Remember, visibility equals credibility. Being a thought leader in your industry is an important way to get your voice heard and respected by your peers and audience. Here is our step-by-step guide 📝 on how to be a thought leader in your industry: 1. DEVELOP AND OPINION (and share it) 🧠 No matter your industry, people are always looking to hear others' opinions on important topics. Whether it be about adopting new technology or staying true to the basics, creating opinions and sharing them is the foundation of thought leadership. Talk about these topics on social media, blogs, your website, or anywhere else your voice can be heard! 2. ENGAGE AND INTERACT WITH YOUR AUDIENCE 🤝 Broadcasting your ideas is important, but creating an engaging and interactive relationship with your audience will encourage them to trust and promote you as a valuable information source. Engage through social media comments or responding to feedback - nurturing these relationships help to build a community around your expertise. 3. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PUBLIC SPEAKING AND PUBLICATIONS 📰 Sharing your thoughts on your own channels is great, but getting your voice heard by other audiences expands your presence as a thought leader. What in the world is Intuitive PR, you ask? As I shared last week, I realized during my time off how much my perspectives on healthcare (and the media, frankly) had changed. I kept asking myself -- If I feel this way, how do I become a part of the solution? I didn’t want to completely throw away a 25-year PR career ~ I also didn’t want to go back to doing it like I had in the past. But I felt isolated in my new ways of thinking. I decided to follow my gut and see where it led - and found a surprising number of voices sharing entirely new ways of thinking about wellness, health and healing. I began connecting organically with them just to say how much I aligned with their work and mission. What I found in return was that many wanted to get out there in a bigger way, but weren’t quite sure how. Because I believed so deeply in their work, it lit me up to think about how I could help them become more visible and expand their impact. One thing led to another and I found myself supporting these revolutionary thinkers as their publicist. But instead of only using traditional PR methods, I trusted my intuition to guide me in connecting them with the right media and collaborators. I also incorporated systems like Human Design and the Gene Keys, which help us better understand ourselves and how we're meant to communicate so our message is well received. Most of the time we already know these things on the inside, but these tools validate our inner knowing and give us a permission slip to do it OUR way, instead of like everyone else. It feels easier and more sincere. AND, it nets incredible results. The impact that my clients have had with this approach has made me (and them) believers in this unconventional approach to PR. I’m sharing this story with you today to say that, even though it can feel scary to follow your intuition and do things differently in your industry, it's so worth it. It's enabled me to work with clients who are trusting THEIR inner guidance to pursue missions they (and I) believe in. And I know that I'm helping to amplify their impact - in MY unique way! So tell me - where is your intuition trying to lead you that might feel a little scary (but worthwhile)? #PR #entrepreneur #futurism #personaldevelopment #inspiration

How do I use LinkedIn to demonstrate thought leadership so it resonates with both potential clients and industry peers? It's a common question I get from executives looking to build their personal brand and establish themselves as industry authorities. The key is to focus on creating content that is: 1. Authentic to your unique perspective and experiences 2. Valuable to your target audience (addressing their challenges and aspirations). 3. Consistently shared in a variety of engaging formats This could look like: ➤ Sharing case studies or "lessons learned" stories that showcase your expertise in action ➤ Offering your take on industry trends and best practices. ➤ Starting conversations around the big challenges and opportunities in your field. You'll want to keep your audience's needs and interests at the forefront. This will position you as your industry's go-to resource and trusted voice. I'm curious... whose content do you enjoy seeing in the feed?
