Do you know a Scout group in Wales looking for extra funding for an upcoming project, event or to help with day-to-day running costs? Movement for Good is giving away £1,000 to 10 charities every day for 12 days of Christmas. Fill in this simple form before 17 December 2023 and your group could find itself with the funds needed for its next Scouting adventure. It’s one vote per person per charity – however, more than one person can nominate the same charity, and the more nominations a charity gets, the greater their chances of winning. So spread the word with your members and supporters, and let’s increase the chances of a Scout group in Wales receiving some extra funding this Christmas. I completely agree that it's too common for large organisations in the charity sector to take over contracts from small, community-led groups. This undermines the unique value these smaller organisations, driven by lived experience, bring. It's time for the government and stakeholders to recognise their importance and provide them with more leadership and representation opportunities. These grassroots organisations do the hard work and achieve the results, yet larger entities often take the credit and financial gains. Supporting and empowering small, lived experience organisations is crucial for fostering genuine community engagement and impactful services.
