🌟 Thrilled to Share My Recent Learning Experience! 🌟 I had the privilege of participating in an enlightening webinar on professional career counseling organized by Elewayte. The session was a deep dive into: ✅ Understanding diverse career paths. ✅ Setting achievable and strategic goals. ✅ Sharpening skills that are crucial for long-term success. ✅ Insights into industry trends and how to stay ahead. The speakers shared practical advice, actionable tips, and real-world examples, leaving us all inspired and motivated to take our professional journey to the next level. A huge thank you to the organizers and mentors for this wonderful opportunity. Such initiatives truly make a difference, especially for students like me striving to excel in the competitive tech landscape. This experience has strengthened my commitment to constantly learn, evolve, and work towards my goal of contributing to hardware-related innovations in the ECE field. 💡 Key takeaway: The right guidance at the right time can open doors to endless possibilities. #CareerCounseling #ProfessionalGrowth #ContinuousLearning #ECE #HardwareEngineering #DRKIST

How are schools meant to deliver up-to-date careers education... ...if they have no contact with industry or employers 🤦🏻♀️ --------------------- Careers teams are doing the best they can with ❌ Scraps of money ❌ Snatches of time and most crucially... ❌ BARELY any involvement or input from the working world Why am I talking about this? Because the creative industries is PARTICULARLY bad at plugging into careers education. I talk to a lot of careers people in education and they consistently say that the creative industries is hardest to engage with. So it's the area that's most left off the careers education curriculum. --------------------- So... 💥 WE AT ERIC DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT IN MARCH 💥 And now is your chance to get involved in careers education. DO IT. It's National Careers Week and we're taking the bull by the horns and doing a full week of back to back talks from professionals from the creative industries. EVERYTHING WILL BE RECORDED. HUNDREDS OF INTERVIEWS. 👉 Register your interest now as an employer/professional to speak 👉 Register your school now to attend https://lnkd.in/eH7qma9J #nationalcareersweek2025 #ncw2025 #ncw #nationalcareersweek

#GreenCareersWeek Case Study. Loughborough Grammar School. We wanted students to be involved in Green Careers Week with support of both the School and their parents. So we planned to use the Green Buzz quiz in school form time to get them all started. I then wrote a newsletter that included a wide range of information, guidance, events and more that students and parents could engage with. Aims To raise the profile of #GreenCareers as a possibility for every student Objectives To engage as many students as possible in the Green Buzz Quiz. To raise awareness of information platforms to parents, carers and students. Impact Feedback from tutors was that there was a real "buzz" from the students about the Green Buzz quiz and that it acted as effective springboard to engage in conversations about pathways students hadn't considered and to get them to engage with the other events going on. Many of our students have a strong sense of green justice but not always an understanding of translating this into a viable career path, either directly or indirectly. I wanted to broaden their horizons. You can access the Green Buzz here: https://lnkd.in/gjjUqWzu #Careers #CEIAG #GreenJobs #GCW2025

Super excited to present today to trainees at NINDS at the NIH on Navigating Career Choices. I love giving this talk to help students and postdocs Navigate choices important for their career decisions. This is 1 talk in a series of 10 career focused talks I am doing for NINDS over the next year! The talk desc is here: this talk provides tips and advice in order to structure an effective career exploration process and ultimately a career search. We will focus on important questions to ask in order to identify “drivers” that can influence career choices. Once identified, we will provide examples for how to leverage these drivers during a career search. We will cover a range of career paths outside of traditional academic PI and industry research roles in order to increase awareness of the numerous career paths available. We will talk about timing for these activities and how to track progress, focus your time and lessen the feeling of being overwhelmed. Lastly, we will provide tips for how to engage others to help you, so that you are not alone in this process.

I had the pleasure of hosting my workshop titled 'Survival of the fittest', representing Enshore during the Careers Week of the University of Groningen. Together with the ~80 attendees we explored how soon-to-be-graduates can find an employer that fits with who they are and what they aspire to be. The backbone of the workshop consisted of the following anchor points. 1. You have a choice. 2. You don't have to get it right the first time. 3. It's hard to know what you want. It's easier to know what you don't want. 4. Work isn't always fun. (And that's a good thing) 5. People change. (And so will you) We discussed the things they look for in potential employers, the different metrics by which you can compare them, and finally how to harness the power of asking indirect questions in order to get the information needed to make a decision. At the end of the workshop I asked everyone to share their takeaways from the session. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot about the mindset and ambitions of the next generation of professionals.
