How many roles on Perm recruiters desk becomes too many roles on a recruiters desk? I recently had a conversation with a recruiter and he advised me that he has 30 roles on that he is working 😨 Now unless you are a magician or a robot, having than many roles on your desk from a practical standpoint is just unrealistic. In my opinion a healthy number of roles a perms recruiter should be working is around 10. Breaking down the numbers sheds light on this rationale: ✔️10 roles managed ✔️5 working days per week ✔️Approximately 8 hours per day ✔️Handling 2 roles daily ✔️Allocating 4 hours per role each day While the responsibilities of recruiter extends beyond managing roles and sourcing candidates, focusing on productivity and outcomes is a far more successful Perms desk that a high number of jobs desk in my eyes. To Hiring Managers: The more information you give recruiters when they are recruiting for you, the better. Recruiters want to ensure they find the right candidate for you, whether it's a cultural, position or team fit. Don't think it's a 'waste of time' to explain to a recruiter your specific needs, as this time is crucial for them to find you that needle in the haysack. To Recruiters: Make sure you maximise your time on briefing calls - don't ask questions just for the sake of asking. Make sure you have a set of questions that will add value to the briefing. Ask all the questions that people don't ask. Ask all of the questions that if YOU were a candidate, you would want to know about the business.
