The secret sauce to enhancing your content by 100 times: Include authentic voices in your writing! ❌ People do not relate with: -Stats -numbers -research ✅ People relate with other people’s: -stories -experiences -narratives No one really remembers a solely data-driven piece because it’s overwhelming to see big numbers when you’re reading. TOO many stats in a piece leads to lower retention rates. You can make your piece so much stronger if you include relevant voices and opinions to create a narrative. This will ensure an interesting piece that others would want to read. And remember.

Writing workshop selfie with Hilary Bryan 🤣 Our advice to "be pessimistic about your readers" is not as dour as it sounds. When you run it through my "unrelenting optimism" filter, it's more like: Make things easy for your readers. Why? 📝 People are busy. Keep it short. 📝 Your readers are not experts. Leave jargon out of it. 📝 Instead of writing how you think, write how people read. And, always snap a workshop selfie. 🌠 #writingworkshop #businesswriting #writingforthereader #workshopfacilitation #learninganddevelopment #businessdevelopment #operationaldevelopment

Here are 3 editing questions to maximize your writing impact. Think of them as the magic questions for everything you write. Is my topic obvious from the first sentence? If readers don’t know what your post is about in the first sentence, they’re unlikely to read more. Did I bury the lede? Reveal your main point as fast as you can, then spend the rest of your time unpacking it for readers. Does this solve a tangible problem? Readers want content that helps them solve a problem — or at least see their problem from a different perspective. I don’t publish until I can answer “yes” to all three. #writingtips

Eliminate the Unnecessary Filler Words... By Bobbie D. Thursday, February 22nd 2024 More often than not, writers dilute their writing with weak, filler words. These ‘fillers’ bring nothing to the table; and can bore your readers. Some examples of filler words and phrases are: ‘like’, ‘you know?’, ‘totally’, ‘um’, ‘okay’. Just to name a few. Spot these words and do what you must to eliminate them from your writing. As you eliminate these words, you’ll find that your content will sound better and better. #pppwritinginspiration #pandemicpresspublishing #pandemicpressmedia
