We recently attended the ribbon cutting for The Charge, a state-of-the-art solar-powered charging facility for Anaheim Transportation Network fleet of battery-electric buses and vans! ATN engaged our #LosAngeles team to develop power requirements and an accompanying charging strategy, in addition to bus parking and charging dispenser layout. It is always amazing to see our projects come to life! Transit agencies play a vital role in the California Air Resources Board's Innovative Clean Transit mission to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and meet air quality standards. These buses will reduce costs for ATN in the long term while providing cleaner air for the communities they serve. Navigating the shift to electric vehicles (EVs) requires a delicate balance of public policy and private sector innovation. While regulations aim to hasten EV adoption, bureaucratic hurdles often slow infrastructure development. As seen in the slow rollout of federally-funded charging stations, effective management and coordination are critical to meeting EV market demands. Join the conversation on how to streamline the EV transition and learn more about ElecVulum's role in supporting sustainable transportation infrastructure. 🚛⚡ New NRDC Blog Alert: The Fight for EV Infrastructure and Clean Air 🌱 I’m excited to share a new blog I co-authored with my colleague Beth Hammon: "A Dirty Detour: How Industry Pushback Puts EV Infrastructure At Risk." The transition to electric trucks is critical to cleaning the air in our communities and addressing the climate crisis. But this progress is threatened by industry pushback on policies like the Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) rule—policies that are essential for creating the market certainty utilities need to invest in EV charging infrastructure. 🛠️ Key Takeaways: 1. Regulatory certainty, like that provided by ACT, drives the investments needed for grid upgrades to power zero-emission trucks. 2. Industry opposition risks delaying EV infrastructure, harming both public health and climate goals. 3. Communities near freight hubs, already burdened by pollution, can’t afford further delays in this essential transition. ACT isn’t just about adopting electric trucks—it’s about ensuring the infrastructure is ready to support them. We call on truck manufacturers to align their actions with their commitments to a zero-emission future. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/edSAFmjc Let’s work together to ensure the promises of a zero-emission future aren’t derailed by short-sighted tactics—because clean air, resilient infrastructure, and a livable climate can’t wait. 🌍 #ZeroEmission #CleanAir #EVInfrastructure #AdvancedCleanTrucks

National Infrastructure Week is a reminder that charging for electric vehicles, including medium- and heavy-duty trucks and transportation, is critical for California to meet its clean air and 2045 climate goals. Our Countdown to 2045 analysis shows that 90% of vehicles will need to run on clean electricity in the next two decades for the state to improve air quality and reach net zero. Southern California Edison (SCE)’s Charge Ready Transport program is accelerating the adoption of medium- and heavy-duty EVs by assuring available charging infrastructure. Last month, we energized WattEV, Inc.’s new depot with 12 dual-port chargers to support truck routes connecting the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles with inland destinations. Earlier this year, my teammate, Chanel Parson, participated in the grand opening of Zeem Solutions’ new medium- and heavy-duty charging site in Inglewood. SCE partnered with NFI and Electrify America to energize a charging depot in Ontario that opened in April and will allow battery-electric trucks to refill at 38 separate DC fast chargers. And just this week, Forum Mobility celebrated the groundbreaking of a drayage EV charging site at the Port of Long Beach. SCE is proud to provide the reliable electric infrastructure that makes California the leader in electrifying transportation. #infrastructureweek #cleanenergy #energy #innovation #electricvehicles #transportation #trucking https://lnkd.in/gyHWNmdn

If you’ve been wondering if it’s worth responding to RFIs as part of your government funding strategy, you need to read this. 🚨 RFIs can be nearly as much work as an RFP (with no award). So, are they even worth it? 👉🏻Thanks to Kevin George Miller, we can hear directly from the agency (below) on why you absolutely should be bothering with “just an RFI.” ✍🏻Responding to an RFI can shape future funding opportunities. Your insights help federal agencies understand the market, address challenges, and refine the requirements for upcoming RFPs. And when those future opportunities roll out, guess who’s already on their radar? The companies that participated early and provided meaningful input (that’s your company!). Responding to RFIs allows your company to: ✅ Influence the direction of policy and investments ✅ Highlight your expertise in emerging technologies ✅ Get a leg up on your competition by staying ahead of the curve Don’t just wait for an RFP to come knocking—sometimes, the real opportunity starts with an RFI. 💡 #EVcharging #CleanTransportation #DriveElectric #ProposalWriter
🚛🔌⚡ Zero-Emission Freight Alert & Pop Quiz! 🚨 Do you... 💡 Have big ideas? 📢 Love sharing your opinion? 🤘 Get stoked on charging medium- and heavy-duty vehicles (MHDVs)? If this sounds familiar, then you should respond to the Request for Information (RFI) on MHDV charging from the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation and Federal Highway Administration by November 12. I have prepped a few FAQs to help you determine if this RFI is right for you: 🤔 "Why should I submit comments?" Your comments will inform federal efforts across all agencies to accelerate private investment in MHDV charging infrastructure and scale up the build-out of a national EV charging network that balances the needs of rapidly evolving technology and infrastructure investments in freight and a multimodal transportation system. 🙄 "I mean, it's just an RFI. Can it really be that important?" Folks, I can't overstate just how embarrassingly excited I am about this RFI. The only better time than RIGHT NOW to get input from experts in freight, manufacturing, retail fuel, energy, and infrastructure, as well as stakeholders from across sectors and interest groups, would be...well... BEFORE now. 😱 "Are you saying we should go back in time & submit comments...then?" I mean... no? Ugh, this is really going off the rails. And now I am being advised to disclose that I cannot help anyone travel backwards through time. So: join the conversation NOW & respond to the RFI to help scale up a national network of that makes it possible for everyone to ride, drive, and haul electric. #DriveElectric #ZeroEmissionFreight #EVcharging #MHDV #cleantrucks #cleanbuses #cleanfreight #timetravel #beexcellenttoeachother
