The Ministry of Forests, Environment, and Climate Change has issued new guidance on Green Credit Rules, 2023, dated February 22, 2024. Here's a quick overview: 🌳 Identifying Degraded Land: State and Union territory Forest Departments will pinpoint degraded land, like open forests and wastelands, for tree planting projects to boost green coverage nationwide. 📏 Calculating Green Credit: Each tree planted on designated parcels earns one Green Credit. Minimum requirement: 1100 trees per hectare, adaptable to local conditions. Certification from relevant Forest Departments is vital. 🔄 Utilizing Green Credits: Credits can be used to meet compensatory afforestation obligations for forest land diversion. They also count towards environmental, social, and governance reporting, and corporate social responsibility initiatives. 🌱 This move is a big step for environmental sustainability and corporate responsibility, encouraging tree planting for a greener future. Our actions today should not deplete resources, degrade the environment, or impair the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Sustainable development requires a holistic approach that considers economic growth, social equity, and environmental protection. It calls for a rethinking of how we use natural resources, how we produce and consume goods, and how we manage waste and pollution. #TuesdayInspiration #ESG #Environmental #Governance #ESGSustainability #Sustainability #ESGinActionAfrica

Sustainable Finance 🌿 The practice of accounting for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors while making investment decisions in the financial industry is known as sustainable finance. This approach encourages longer-term investments in sustainable projects and economic activity. Environmental factors may include adaptation and mitigation of climate change as well as environmental factors more generally, such as pollution avoidance, biodiversity preservation, and the circular economy.

🌱 Exciting News Alert! 🌱 Did you know that the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) recently introduced a groundbreaking methodology for its Green Credit Programme? 🌿 Launched last October 2023, this initiative aims to harness the power of tree planting to reduce carbon emissions, improve air and water quality, and boost biodiversity. Now, with the release of detailed guidelines in February 2024, the government is taking decisive steps to accelerate environmental conservation efforts. By identifying degraded land parcels and promoting large-scale tree planting on open forests and scrub lands, they're paving the way for impactful change. 🌳 But here's where it gets really exciting – these tree planting activities generate tradable credits! 💡 These credits can be utilized by companies to fulfill their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) obligations. It's a win-win situation for both businesses and the planet! At Capers, we're passionate about making a positive impact on the environment, and we're here to help companies navigate the Green Credit Programme seamlessly. From organizing tree planting events to facilitating CSR initiatives, we're committed to driving sustainability and corporate citizenship. Let's join hands to create a greener, more sustainable future together! 🌏💚 #GreenCreditProgramme #CSR #ESG #Sustainability #EnvironmentalConservation #CapersImpact #MOEFCC
