👾 Excited to share that we finally made a first move! Although this is not an official product, this open call (and a big shout out to our amazing chief editor Wenjing Fan for spending so much time designing the workshop; and chief designer Ding Yuxin for blending her wonderful feminist ideas into the front design you can see in the poster) is the first time we start to experiment with our community-oriented business idea by engaging with our community: 👩🎨 In order to get to know what our audiences interested in, introduce the business to the community, as well as get to know a bit early on what are the topics our potential contributors interested in, we plan to launch an Issue 0 zine! 🎨 We invite all forms of contributions within some Chinese feminist communities and create content from social movements, diaspora life, and radical feminism. Then, we invite selected members to participate in collaborative workshops to refine their creations alongside fellow creators, and our magazine editor teams. 👩🚀 This open call accepts ONLY Chinese content as an experiment to engage with our closest audiences. In the future, there will be content in English as well as open calls for English speakers. 🙌 Can't wait to share more insights from this experimental journey 👀 click on the link in bio or follow us on ig@feministsunspeakable to witness our growth;)

This is why it is important to first seek to understand (to quote an old standard from Stephen Covey in 7 Habits of Highly Effective People). Then "Know your knowables." Patti Crane Learn the language of the field. In disability rights and disability justice the work by so many that come before us lays a groundwork for understanding where we are in progress. Sharing enthusiasm is wonderful! Sharing underinformed advice is dangerous and can unintentionally roll back work that has taken so many so long to achieve. “What we don’t want to happen is people thinking they are learning how to make something accessible, but in reality, just making it a different type of inaccessible.” Jamie Shields Before you undertake work even if the personal passion project type - but even more so if you are consulting - or even in an influencing position - in a social justice and human rights arena - start by first learning about the area where you have an interest. Follow and learn from pros and established advocates. Understand current day themes, language, and models of disability. Put your energies to good work and take advantage of all the access you have to leaders in the field.

I need to say something, and it’s probably going to sound mean, but if I don’t say it, I’m most likely going to accidentally blurt it out during a podcast or speaking event. 😂 I absolutely love, love, love that people are talking about accessibility more and more. I especially love how open people are to sharing what they've learnt on how to make content accessible. But, and this is where I feel mean, we need to be careful about what we are sharing. Some of the information I’m seeing being shared is not accurate. What we don’t want to happen is people thinking they are learning how to make something accessible, but in reality, just making it a different type of inaccessible. I’ve seen people promoting captioning for videos but encouraging people to custom their captions, having them pop or flash around the screen or use inaccessible colours. This isn't accessible. Captions should be at the bottom of a video, have sufficient contrast, and not be like a game Where’s Wally? Please stop promoting inaccessible captions. Oh, and if you choose to guilt-trip someone for pointing out the inaccessible advice you are giving, or you feel the need to ignore them, you need to have a sit down with your privilege, because no one is exempt from learning, not even you. WHAT DOES BEING ONE OF ONE MEAN IN UPDATED SYSTEMS. Outdated systems are based on systemic generalizations of humans in gender, race, niche of system-hierarchies. Since the internet introduced us to never ending niches, we increasingly realized that we are all one of one with a one of one life-perspective of 8 billion one of one humans. We talk about how we can update our outdated systems, updating them into our collaborative art-works of human interaction. https://lnkd.in/gNeeM55Y #dyslexicthinking #humanbirthrights

Here are three quick tips to improve digital accessibility: 1️⃣ Colour contrast: Use high contrast between text and background colours. This makes it easier for everyone, including those with visual impairments, to read your content. 2️⃣ Use clear and simple language: Write in straightforward language to reach a broader audience. 3️⃣ Ensure forms are accessible: Label form fields clearly, use accessible error messages, and make sure users can navigate and submit forms with a keyboard. Let’s make the digital world a more inclusive place for everyone! 💙 What other tips do you have for improving accessibility? Hello community, happy to share with you a new publication. The Smooth Project has given us the opportunity to reflect a lot on young people and their participation processes, I hope you can read and discuss the results with us! Great teamwork, thanks Belén Beltrán Beltrán Santiago Guerrero Benalcázar This paper presents the development and results of an European project focused on the application of educational commons -an alternative system of values and actions in the field of education-, and the participatory audiovisual methodology - that works with audiovisual content through action-research-. The project was implemented in two case studies with young people between 16 and 18 years old in a socio-educational center of El Raval neighborhood, in Barcelona. The main objective of the research was to observe whether these methodologies could encourage the participation of young people from vulnerable contexts. The results prove that the creation of cooperative, democratic and playful spaces, as well as the use of a familiar language (such as audiovisual for young people) can foster greater motivation and encourage participation. However, the need to involve young people from the beginning of the implementation of the project and in the decision-making process, are also identified as necessary points to prevent them from feeling forced to participate and to make them feel part of the process. #educationalcommons #youth #participation #somoothproject Keywords: youth participation, educational commons, audiovisual participatory methodology, action-research, vulnerable contexts

Univ. Prof. of Critical Thinking • AI & Art Theoretician • Tech Queer Activist • Co-Publisher at GAY45.eu • Board of Directors @ DerAffe.io Elevationslabor • Creator JARVIS first AI curator • Speaking: [email protected]
Some of my class students made a one page newspaper. No title. Huge dimenssion. They said write what you think. How can I say no to my smart dear students. Here a quote from my 'Critcal Manifesto'. Will be printed and distributed free from Monday. 'I am frequently invited to universities and major conferences to deliver lectures and seminars on artificial intelligence and critical thinking. Journalism, queer theory, art, and politics function as tools to examine, validate, or challenge my theories. Critical thinking lies at the heart of my work, yet, increasingly, I observe its decline in contemporary discourse. Without robust support for creative disciplines and journalism, critical thinking risks extinction. Some corporations might imagine a world where thinking is unnecessary, but trust me, such a world is unsustainable. A lack of intellectual backbone has already paved the way for far-right ideologies, as seen with figures like Trump and the troubling rise of similar movements in Europe. Queer individuals who once fought on the streets for universal rights are ageing, while younger generations often find themselves ensnared in homonationalist narratives. It is imperative we collectively wake up and re-engage with the principles of critical thought, activism, and solidarity before it is too late.'
